I thought Sterling K. Brown was in this since it looked like him in the trailer

A forgettable movie

Slow and not a lot of dialogue but a lot of silence and brooding

Fun though the acting is not that great. Maybe Steve Remar is the only guy that had a long career in the cast and David Patrick Kelly had some small roles here and there.

I thought ending the movie in the beach and sun was weak when most of the movie is set at night.

Double Face (1969) — Middling Italian mystery film that is slow and the ending doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Klaus Kinski though was alright. 2.75/5

The Garden of the Finzi-Continis has been on my radar for a long time, but I finally got around to watching it last night. I enjoyed it, but it took me a while to get into its rhythms (and to be able to tell the characters apart; to me, several of the actors looked too similar to distinguish at first). Overall, though, I'd recommend it to those who don't need an explosion every few minutes to keep them awake.

Upgrade - Been putting off watching it for a good while. The short run time allowed me to watch it yesterday, finally. Fun movie; not the standard revenge fare I was expecting.

Hope Moretz is banned from the silver screen and works in TV.

The Entity (1982) — Pretty bizarre but also unique supernatural movie featuring a great performance from Barbara Hershey. While the final act was a bit lame considering what happened before, still worth checking out if you haven't already. Probably will watch the documentaries on the real life aspects on Doris Bither. 3.5/5

Lady Ice (1973): Not-bad tale of an insurance investigator (Donald Sutherland) trying to track down some some stolen jewels. Jennifer O'Neill looks great, and Robert Duvall shows up to grab a quick paycheck between Godfathers. Nice Florida scenery + some great cars - a gripping story = a passable way to kill an hour and a half.

She's So Lovely - 4/5

Well acted very good comedy/drama about the pitfalls of love based on a script by the late great John Cassavetes.

Never Grow Old (2019) — Middling western-drama that has some okay moments but nothing really stands out, including the acting from both Hirsch an Cusack (who does seem to sleepwalk through his role, however). IDK, didn't at all hate it but kind of confused on the messaging, guess it was good for the town to be run by a tyrannical Christian priest? 2.5/5

I Am Mother on Netflix - enjoyable with a curious ending - still processing it if it is ambiguous or ... something. It is hard to end a good premise whether a book or film.

The New York Ripper (1982) — Some truly brutal violent scenes amongst a puzzling plot and although common for its type, distracting dubbing. Did like the skeezy 1980s NYC setting and the gore effects were fairly well done. 3.0/5

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

The Poison Rose (2019) Travolta's latest On Demand/DTV movie manages to drag down other prominent (or once prominent) actors with him, this time Morgan Freeman. Bad writing, poor editing, terrible direction, sub-par and sometimes awful acting, especially on Travolta's part just makes this a tough to sit through. Just embarrassing all around. 1.5/5

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

A Vigilante (2019) — Olivia Wilde is great, the rest of the movie was needlessly slow adding no suspense or emotion. Without lingering shots, this would've easily been under 80-minutes. Shame that a great performance was wasted. 2.0/5

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

I was not entertained or impressed with A Vigilante though Wilde did a good job in that role.

Nothing really memorable here.

Rebecca De Mornay ruined her good looks with the short hair.

She was the sole reason I gave it a 2, had to be emotionally draining for her. The rest of the movie just dragged. Really disappointed.

Milius (2013) - Entertaining documentary with an amazing line-up of interviewees (Spielberg, Scorsese, Coppola, Lucas, Eastwood...) Unfortunate that child rapist Bryan Singer was included.

I want 1 hr and 40 minutes of my life back though it was longer since I stopped and paused and went downstairs and ate a bag of Doritos and read the paper.

I browsed the Directv menu and search engine to pass time.

One of the worst movies I have seen this year.

Yeah that could have been kinda cool.

Definitely deserving of the R rating. But pretty good.
Of course my wife walks in when they meet the blond guy for the first time, and said "Long way from Saturday morning cartoons".

Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2019) — Fun animated movie though the Turtles designs are foreign to me having not watched any of the recent adaptations. Still, okay story and the humor actually mostly worked even with the tonal differences between the pairings. 3.5/5

The Green Inferno (2013) — Didn't hate but didn't care for it. Acting was pretty bad save for a few scenes by Lorenza Izzo though these characters' naivety were absolutely annoying. As Eli Roth movies go, probably one of his better movies, and yet I'm only giving it a 3/5.
