Despicable Me 2 - crap. Minions were mildly amusing, the rest of the flick was direct to dvd fodder.

The Nameless - 4/5

Creepy Spanish thriller about a woman whose six-year-old daughter is presumed dead. Five years later she receives a phone call from what sounds like her daughter pleading for rescue. I wish Hollywood could take some lessons from this film on how to make a good nail biting thriller.

The To Do List starring Aubrey Plaza from Parks and Recreation.

I would give it 3 stars and maybe a B- if I'm being generous.

Starship Troopers - 2 out of 4. Can't believe the RiffTrax was closed because I simply didn't argree that it wad a perfect example of satire Ironic considering the fascist nature of the movie. It's no wonder it was closed.

Gangster Squad - I enjoyed it for what it was, a fun gangster shoot 'em up. There were plenty of cliches to make you roll your eyes and it was fairly predictable but I enjoyed it. If you're expecting L.A. Confidential you'll be disappointed but if you going in expecting a gangster flick that doesn't take itself too seriously you might enjoy it.

Starship Troopers - excellent and subversive satire.

X-Men: First Class - best X-men flick since X2.

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, it might be one of the most average movies I've ever seen.

Re: Last movie you watched

Rented 3 movies tonight from my local video store.

Rented and Re-watched Olympus has Fallen. Still enjoyed it. Very fun R-rated action flick.

Emperor: Historical drama with Tommy Lee Jones as General Douglas MacArthur and Matthew Fox from Lost. It's basically about a WWII Investigation into whether Emperor Hirohito of Japan committed war crimes. Thought it was pretty well made, but a little slow.

The Big Wedding: Stars Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Robin Williams, Susan Sarandon, Katherine Heigl and Topher Grace. Will watch it tomorrow morning.

Didn't think Olympus Has Fallen was out yet?

Super kind of a Kick-Ass type movie. Not sure which one came out first. It was OK but once you get the R rating you might as well swing for the fences, this did not.

My local video store puts stuff out up to 2 weeks early.

If it comes out at Best Buy or Target for $19.99 or less, I might pick it up. Originally had it on pre-order at Amazon, but cancelled.

Re: Last movie you watched

Watching this movie tonight on Starz called "10 Years"

Has anyone here heard of it? Had a pretty ridiculous cast.

Channing Tatum, Rosario Dawson, Chris Pratt, Aubrey Plaza, Jenna Dewan-Tatum (Channing's wife), Kate Mara, Scott Porter, Justin Long and Ron Livingston. It's like a 10 year High School Reunion movie.

Must be an Indie movie.

Re: Last movie you watched

Argo very good flick. Didn't know why I couldn't remember this story even though I remember so much about the hostage takeover. Then the reveal that it was a secret for 17 years.

Heartburn - 2/5

Based on Nora Ephron's marriage to Watergate journalist Carl Bernstein. A New York food critic falls for a DC journalist. After they marry and have a child she suspects that he is cheating on her. What a waste of talent.

Polisse - 4/5

The day to day grind of the Paris Child Protection Unit. A very realistic and gritty slice of life film that is very touching and at the same time disturbing.

Re: Last movie you watched

Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox...not bad, not bad at all. nice violence, good story, exciting in some parts, confusing in others, but overall probably 2nd for me after Wonder Woman.
