^ I weirdly just watched The Big Short again as well. Fantastic movie that has a lot of fun with a really shitty and depressing subject.

Synchronicity! It happened on another site I used to hang on. I had watched an old film like 'Total Recall' or something and someone had just watched it on the same day!

Rampage - Wow, that was a fun flick. If I had seen it in theaters I would have left with a smile on my face. I am of course talking about the Dwayne Johnson film.

Apostle (2018)

Beautifully shot & delightfully gory.

Outside that, the film has a bit too many pieces that aren't fully fleshed out or are very uninteresting Plot Devices.

Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) — Pretty much had the same feeling as I did with the first movie: it was fun but shallow entertainment. I did for the most part enjoyed it, however won't remember very much about it down the line. The humor was okay though some fell absolutely flat (really, a "whats uuuuup" joke?), but I did like the cast which was the saving grace. 3.25/5

Death Race: Beyond Anarchy (2018) — More of the same, lots of car crashes insane violence. Not a terrible movie but at this point, kind of derivative even when the filmmakers attempt to take in a different direction. Surprisingly, I actually didn't mind the new actor, Zach McGowan, in the lead. On the other side, the Frankenstein helmet looked like something rejected from one of the later Friday the 13th masks... 2.75/5

Eighth Grade...so well done and well executed. Both Josh Hamilton and Elsie Fisher didn't seem like they were acting. i felt like i was a docu almost, but went a way i was not expecting. really enjoyed this and the mall that was featured, especially when you saw the outside is my hometown. Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack, NY. Really good movie and so well done on every level.

A Field In England (2013)

The first 25-minutes of this film were a bit sluggish for me but the final hour was fantastic.

Great performances from Reece Shearsmith & Michael Smiley

Friend Request (2016)

The film has semi-interesting mythos but it's buried beneath odd characterizations of Mental Illness & muddled messages about Social Media.

Destroyer (2018)

As with her 2015 film The Invitation, Karyn Kusama's newest effort is both beautifully shot and wonderfully scored (Theodore Shapiro returns here).

Nicole Kidman feels like she's sleepwalking through the role, which asks her to play against the type of casting she's normally given. What doesn't really help is the much-talked-about physical transformation she went through, which has some awfully done (and distracting) wigs.

Didn't feel the script was fully engaging in its final form, which not even Kusama could remedy, even though there are some intense moments sprinkled within the film.

City Slickers (1991) — Just an incredibly fun comedy-adventure with great performances from the three leads and Jack Palance's small, though Academy Award winning, role. Can't help but to have a smile on your face from beginning to end. The bit about setting up the VCR to record was amusing, but not for the reason as it was initially written back then.

A Most Violent Year (2015)

Rather ordinary suspense/drama about an immigrant in NY trying to make his oil business grow without giving in to the dirty, vilent, illegal practices of his competitors. Although his Gandhi-like non-violence approach his commendable, it doesn't make for a great subject.

Lost City of Z (2016)

Another one that misses the mark. This time, true story of early 20th century British explorer who believed there was a city or ancient civilisation in 'savage' land Amazonia forest. The downer ending and lack of warmth in the direction make it hard to get into the film. Much better films about explorers are 'Mountains of the Moon' and the BBC mini-series 'Shackleton' with Kenneth Branagh in the lead.

Harold & Kumar go to White Castle (2004)

Stoner-comedy for teens or retarded adults like me! Some funny jokes and overall entertaining, but not for intellectuals!

Jaws 2 (1978)

Jaws 3 (1983)

A clear case of sequels ruining the experience! No 2 was boring and No 3 was ridiculous. I read that it was initially pitched as a parody and they had a working script and all but Spielberg threatened to leave Universal if they made it funny and the studio canned the spoof version to come up with a serious in your face 3D thriller.

I was up last night until 2 a.m watching the beginning of Riddick which is the third or fourth Pitch Black movie.

Beginning of the movie's not bad but reminded me of Enemy Mine a little bit

Not missing anything here unless you want to see Seyfried in a small supporting role.

Must see! Just kidding.

An hour ago earlier tonight i was watching Split for DVD. I got another 45 minutes or so left of the movie to watch.

Longest M Night Shymalan movie in my opinion

Blood Fest (2018)

Not nearly as clever as it thinks it is. A bit unsure of its overall identity.

Felt like a parody of Horror films and would have been better if it played things more directly.

Terrified (Aterrados) (2018)

Filled solid scares and enough (genuinely) creepy moments to keep you up at night. Unfortunately, there isn't enough Plot or Character Development to hold up the structure of this film.

Slice (2018)

One of the film's Plot Points is brilliant and the film has some scattered laughs.

Still, the film feels incredibly uninspired (especially in the Character Department) and long, even at 83 minutes.
