Maybe I am crazy but I would take Westfeldt over Megan Fox.

I didn't know who Westfeldt was until you mentionned her but Megan Fox is not at all interesting for me. She looks like a plastic doll.
I googled Jennifer Westfeldt and she's more to my taste. Can she act though?

Caddyshack (1980)
NOt very funny cultish 80s comedy. Most characters are annoying. Usually excellent Bill Murray doesn't shine nor does Chevy Chase (in an ill-defined role)
Gofer was good!

Ready Player One (2018)
Bit of a disapointment. Too much time spent in the Oasis and not enbough in the real world. Which, for me, was a much more interesting plot and sociological curiosity. And I was expecting "Tom Sawyer" from Rush as they had in the previews, but it wasn't there. We got Quiet Riot instead!

Man with a Movie Camera (1929)
Essential viewing for cinema students (or film lovers). Dziga Vertov's silent ode to cinematic virtuosity (and montage) is still stunning today. A series of beautiful and daring shots from Moscow in the late 20s assembled in a ballet of human life. Great stuff.

v/h/s/2 (2013)

Safe Haven (Written & Directed by Gareth Evans & Timo Tjahjanto) is still one of my favorite Horror Short Films.

Spaceways (1953)
Very wooden acting from leading man in this so-so Hammer scifi whodunit.
The British space-program (4 scientists in an office and a few security guards!) is ready to sent a manned rocket in orbit around the earth when one scientist disappears with the wife of the head nerd. Spies? Lovers? Dead? Secret services will investigate...

She can act but it is her writing which she is more known for.

Daddario and Upton the next Laurel and Hardy.

Kate Upton should keep her day job.

Surprised William Macy directed this since I thought he would go for something with a little more substance.

Thanks for the little comment asianxcore. Having liked The Raid & 2, I'll now try and check his segment in VHS 2! I like discovering new things!!!

I watched WarGames today for the first time. It's a bit dated now, but it's still a very entertaining movie. 4/5

Saving Private Ryan (1998) — One fantastic war movie from the incredible, and horrifying, opening until the bitter end. Not ashamed to admit I did cry. 5/5

Manhunt - Netflix. Woo hoo! John Woo is back. The farm house shootout alone was worth the price of admission.

Tremors: A Cold Day In Hell - Netflix. Also a fun film and a must watch if you are a fan.

The Recall...starring Wesley Snipes.
Decent Teens-Lost-in-the-Woods-Being-Chased-by-Baddies movie.
The craftsmanship overcomes some shakey acting and logic.
For fans of this type of movie, I would recommend it....but not to anyone else.

Avengers - Infinity War. A bit disappointed. Who likes to see everyone get their asses kicked?

Les aventures de Tintin: Le secret de la Licorne (2011)

Never liked the Tintin "bandes dessinées" (comic books?) much but my son always has and we rewatch this film yearly or so. I think its mostly awful. I hate that kind of as-real-as-we-can computer animation, its creepy - my son feels the same about the puppets of my youth like Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlett. So we're even! - plus the over-the-top-non-stop-action-sod-any-believability-factor Peter Jackson/Spielberg style is really annoying. Like that end motorcycle chase and crane fight. Terrible.

Tintin: Le mystère de la toison d'or (1961)

More to my tastes! They did 2 live-action films in the sixties. This one is rather nice with its setting in Turkey and Greece. The actor portraying Haddock is also quite on the dot. The second film isn't as good.

Journey to the West (2011)
Far-out chinese adventure comedy by Stephen Chow (of Shaolin Soccer and Kung-Fu Hustle fame). A young monk and apprentice demon catcher must face all sorts of perils (even love) to taste his buddhist fate and catch the king of demons.
Some hilarious moments and good-fashion non-sensical characters and scenes.
Not as good as his previous films but worth a detour if you enjoyed those.

The East Bay Times our local paper posted the U.S. vs Canada Womens Gold Medal Hockey result two days after it happened (The game aired after 7:30pm PT so what is the excuse?) so I bet they are going under soon.

A brutal movie

Cops and Robbers (2017)

Easily one of Michael Jai White's worst movies. Super low budget and awful supporting cast.

There's a big "twist" in it that I didn't expect, but it didn't make up for the other awful aspects of it. Plus, MJW doesn't even do any martial arts in this movie.

Manhunt (2018)

John Woo directed action thriller. Watched it on Netflix.

Good action, very well made technically, but the story lost me towards the end. Definitely not the movie I was expecting.

I actually enjoyed this one. Extremely violent movie, but I thought a lot of the acting was really good, and I thought James Gunn wrote a pretty interesting story...It's definitely not for everyone's tastes, but I think more people than not would find it enjoyable enough...

Bob Marley: Exodus Live at the Rainbow 1976

I used to be a great Bob Marley fan, especially in my pot smoking days, but had never seen a filmed concert of his. Although I still enjoy his music, this live footage is a bit dated. The camera work and stage lighting and ambiance feels a bit cold. Bob is full of energy and charisma but it hardly transmits to us the viewers. I'll stick to my old CDs...

The East (2013)

Interesting thriller about a private security firm undercover agent (Brit Marling, who also co-wrote and produced) infiltrating an eco-terrorist group to help her company bust the bad guys. But a Stockholm Syndrome later, she's not sure anymore who are the baddies. Nice drama throughout but with some flaws in the csript. Still, very enjoyable low-key production.
