Baby Driver
Fun movie. Great car chases. Loved Hamm and Foxx in their respective roles.

A recent upgrade to blu from red. Not a huge fan of Julia Roberts but I love this movie.

Not sure how I first heard of this movie but I rented this and was pleased. An old fashioned thriller with a touch of Bourne but with no unbelievable stunts. A CIA agent is double crossed at an interrogation and spends the next 100 minutes trying to find out who did it, who is for and who is against, and try to stay alive. Naomi Rapace plays a believable action hero.

Endless Poetry (Poesia Sin Fin) The sequel to Alejandro Jodorowsky's Dance of Reality -- it's phenomenal. What a great way to end the year. It had a peculiar release her, so it could not go on my Top film list, but definitely on my Top-10 BD's of the year.

Mayhem...holy shit was this balls to the walls fun. fucking fantastic. i had no idea what to expect, but it was just like a mash of favorite zombie/infected type movies and worked so well. so well. Yuen was great and Samara Weaving is so fucking hot (on to watch The Babysitter). so much fun i was actually laughing at the unexpected carnage and how some of the carnage took place. this was Joe Lynch's love letter to the movies that preceded. And to now find out he did one of my favorite guilty pleasures in Wrong Turn 2. fantastic!

Personal Shopper
Unlocked
I'm a fan of Assaya's work, especially Carlos, but Personal Shopper was a cool little indie flick. I surprised to see that it only cost 1 million to make, when it's actually shot in a couple of different countries and has a few digital effects. Not what I was expecting, but liked it a lot.
Unlocked was a lot of fun and good to see the various well known actors in the film. John Malkovich was quite hysterical.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword
Guy Ritchie's style always feels too anachronistic for period movies like this and the Sherlock movies (though I think The Man from U.N.C.L.E. worked okay). I wish he'd make a more contemporary movie soon, though I see he's got the live-action Aladdin coming up next.

The Holy Girl - 2.5/5
A teenage girl who lives in a dilapidated hotel that is managed by her mother and uncle becomes aware of her sexuality when an older man rubs up against her in a crowded street.
A very well made film from Lucrecia Martel that starts off slow and by the time it picks up, it's a bit too late to make-up for the first half.

The Babysitter...this was bat shit insane and I loved every fucking minute of it! After seeing Mayhem with Weaving, I am so in love. She plays bad ass so well. This movie was simple, mindless and pure fun enjoyment. This and Mayhem are knock it out of the park winners. G-damn I had a blast.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer - 4.5/5
The friendship between a teen-age boy and a heart surgeon slowly begins to unravel its sinister motives. After his excellent English language debut of The Lobster, Yorgos Lanthimos does it again.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri - 1.5/5
A year after her daughter was raped and murdered, a mother decides to call out the local police department for their lackadaisical attitude in solving the crime. An unrealistic predictable mess of a film.

I watched Breathe this morning. I really enjoyed it too. Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy are fantastic in this. I hadn't seen Foy in anything before and I now know that the hype about her is justified. 4/5

Molly's Game
Very long movie, but I thought the story was really compelling and well by Jessica Chastain. Plus it helps that she's drop dead gorgeous in this and looks fantastic in pretty much every scene she's in.

I watched Free Fire tonight and I wanted to like it, but I was disappointed. It was just 90 mins long and I felt that it was still 15 minutes too long. I also didn't find any of the characters likable or interesting. 2.75/5

Scooby-Doo & Batman: The Brave and the Bold (2018) — As a Batman fan, fun to see a lot of the quirky side characters (favorite was Detective Chimp) and just having this Batman back. Of course, it was forced bringing in the Scooby world with Batman but still entertaining enough. 3.0/5
