Girls Trip (2017) — Awful, humorless movie. I like the cast and all but I didn't laugh, or even chuckle, once. 1.0/5

Blade Runner 2049...magnificent, just magnificent. wonderful film.
Villeneuve took an existing world (created by Scott) an immersed us fully and expanded on it entirely. it was just a great cinematic experience all the way through. i was literally entranced.
and you really need to see the first to appreciate this. this isn't a standalone and i don't see why people think it is. that is perhaps why it won't do blockbuster or near to it, because the other is over 30 years old now. you really need to experience and enjoy the first to fully appreciate this one. you can't go in blind or you will be completely dumbfounded imo.
this just built on the last and the ending, again, so bittersweet.

Ali (Director’s Cut) - 4.5/5
As a fan of Mann’s work, I slept on this film because of Will Smith. I do not admire him as an actor, but I have to say that he was really good in this. As for the film, it was excellent as is everything by Michael Mann. It covers the life of the greatest’s struggles both inside the ring as a fighter and outside the ring as s political activist, from his title fight with Sonny Liston up to the rumble in the jungle.

The Darkness (2016, S: Kevin Bacon, Radha Mitchell)
Not good. Basically a bad Poltergeist ripoff. In addition to Bacon and Mitchell, it has the kid who plays Bruce on Gotham, with Paul Reiser and Ming-Na Wen in small roles. Oh, and Jennifer Morrison for like 10 seconds.

Dawn of the Dead (2004) — Straight forward zombie movie with none of the social commentary of the original, but still entertaining and, maybe someone can correct me on this, the first zombie movie where the undead actually were fast? 3.75/5

Land of the Dead (2005) — George A. Romeo returns to the director's chair after a 20 year absence from the series and although I really didn't find it all that scary and the social commentary wasn't exactly subtle, still was rather entertaining and featured a good cast. 3.75/5

Open Water 3: Cage Dive (2017) — Awful in every way, but at least had one hilarious scene.

I watched Kingsman: The Golden Circle today. It was fun and the action was over-the-top. I do feel that it was too long and I wasn't happy with a few of the twists that happened. 3.25/5

Lyle - 3.5/5
Pretty good low budget indie thriller about a lesbian couple who move into a Brooklyn brownstone. When their child dies a mysterious death, one of them starts to suspect that their strange eccentric neighbors might have something to do with it. Borrows heavily from Rosemary's Baby.

Wish Upon (2017) — Could've been so much better but instead was incredibly stupid (found it far more funny than scary) despite a good performance from Joey King. 2.0/5
