Mary Reily w Julia Roberts (in her best role IMHO) and the always stellar, John Malkovich. Also has a (young) Michael Sheen, Glenn Close and pre-Dumbledor Michael Gambon

Bone Tomahawk - It had potential with those crazy-ass Indians, but was pretty disappointing. We spend half the movie watching Patrick Wilson hobbling around the countryside on a broken leg. Then there's no explanation at all for how those weird mutant cannibals came to be, and they're ultimately dispatched way too easily.

Scenic Route - 4/5

Two old friends who's lives went in separate directions attempt to bond by going on a road trip. Their friendship is ultimately put to the test when their vehicle breaks down on a desolate road in the middle of the desert. Very good black comedy/thriller about how extreme situations can bring out the best and the worst in people.

I usually find Miles Teller pretty generic but thought he was good in this. Good cast and interesting topic to base a movie on. Like all movies based on real events I would have liked to see a documentary about the actual story but this was a rental version with no extras.

A few good chuckles but disappointing considering the talent. OK rental but nothing I would want to own.

Ouija: Origin of Evil

I rented this last week and thought it was alright. Had some suspenseful moments, but nothing overly violent. It was a pretty standard PG-13 suspense film. Watching it once was good enough.

Keeping up with the Joneses.

I have similar thoughts to what Jim ^^ said. Good cast with a few chuckles. But a very forgettable comedy (unless you count seeing Gal Gadot in black lingerie one as a memorable moment) Either rent the disc from Red Box cheap or see it later this year on HBO if you are kind of interested in seeing it.

I enjoyed this in the theaters and since I own the first I picked up this as well. I know it's a generic story but I enjoy his movies, even Knight and Day.

Deadpool - 4/5

For someone who is not a comic book/superhero person, I thought this was very good. Liked the fact that they did not try to make this a big dumbed down cash grab for younger audiences. Instead we get a demented ultra violent black comedy action film for adults with a script that doesn't insult its audience.

I watched Cafe' Society this afternoon. Overall, I liked it, but I thought Kristen Stewart was the worst part of it. She doesn't show much emotion at all and she's very frustrating since she can be great at times like she was in Adventureland and Into The Wild. 3/5

Frailty - 4/5

Good creepy southern gothic tale about religious fanaticism, madness and how far children will go to please their parents.

Hollow Man...terrible, but Verhoeven terrible with some good effects and over the top performances. And Rhona Mitra...mama Mia!

I always liked that one in a cheesy kind of way. I had the DVD and in the extras they showed deleted scenes and why they were deleted. The BR was an example of why adding scenes back in just to have them was a mistake. They weren't deleted for run time. They were deleted because it changed the tone of the character and the film darker much earlier. The theatrical cut was better IMHO.

And yes Rhona Mitra is very hot.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

The Cutting Edge...i always remember liking this one. Moira Kelly was cute and she had ok chemistry with D.B. Sweeney. it's cheesy and so cliche, but it's fun. don't know what made me put it on actually. it was just there in Vudu for free with ads, i think in the Valentine's section. i've wanted to see it again so i just popped it on. the ads are a minor nuisance and when i stopped the movie it didn't show up in my watchlist, so i found it again and played more ads. still a fun movie.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

I saw Hollow Man on Cinemax again last year and it was pretty entertaining though cheesy.

Edge of Winter. Joel Kinnaman is a really shitty actor.

Nighthawks

Need to watch it again since I fell asleep during the hostage situation lol.

Bright Lights on HBO. Did not know Debbie Reynolds wore a wig. Such a tragedy with that family.
