I watched Focus (2015) tonight. I thought it was just ok. I really liked the first half, but I thought that the second half really draaaaggggeeddddd along.... I really like Margot Robbie and I hope she can find better material and better movies to be in. 2.75/5

A new TV is like watching them for the first time all over again. UHD does take some getting used to though. The movement being so crisp appears different than what I'm used to.

Although it uses the cliché of disarming the bomb with 1 second to spare, I like the throwback to some earlier hero on the lamb thrillers.

The Man From Nowhere - 2.5/5

A loner who runs a pawn shop befriends the neglected daughter of his drug addicted neighbor. When the mother recklessly steals heroin from a gang of ruthless criminals the daughter is kidnapped. Unaware to everyone, the loner happens to be a former Army intelligence agent and all hell is about to break loose. Not bad, but the whole bad ass putting his life on the line and wreaking havoc because he's got a soft spot for a child is getting tired.

Split...Really enjoyed this. taut and tense throughout. creepy with not a lot of gore which is pretty trademark Night. McAvoy kills it per usual. he was just outstanding. loved the twist and thought it was going a different way with what the Dr. (Buckley) said, but i was wrong anyway.

close to a 4 star movie, but i give it a very high...

In The Line of Fire...remembered liking it more when I think I saw in theater. Still good, but that love interest stuff was awful between Eastwood and Russo. Malkovich is a good baddie though. He's a good anything really.

Same! Finished it up today and went over very well in my class.

Jacob Aaron Estes (Director/Writer of that film) co-wrote the film I saw tonight, Rings (2017). What a turd of a film.

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping - 2.5/5

Mockumentary about the former member of a boy band who makes it big as a solo artist. The musical numbers and cameos by music industry celebrities were hilarious.
Too bad the rest of the film wasn't as funny.

The Bronze (Starz) - Raunchy but funny comedy staring Bernadette from The Big Bang Theory. Also stars Haley Lu Richardson, who I guess is now having a moment starring in SPLIT.

Spacecamp (1986) - DVD streamed to my Apply TV 3. Wow, this is a wonderful film that needs to be rediscovered by this generation of kids and young adults. I forgot I had this on DVD on my computer so I decided to add it to my Apple TV 3 and prayed it would look okay on a 4K tv...it looked surprisingly good (almost like some of those blu rays you would buy from Fry's that look more like good upconverted DVDs vs a reference blu ray). IMDB says the film is riddled with plot holes and technical/continuity goofs, but who cares as it is such a fun watch.

Also the cast, a young Kelly Preston and Lea Thompson, along with some other well known names. If it never comes out on blu that is okay, still worth watching on DVD.

Be Kind Rewind...I just enjoyed the hell out of this the second time around. More so than the first. Barely even remembered. So sweet and cultured. This and Eternal Sunshine are Gondry greats.
