I expected to like this more than I did. It was humorous. I thought it would be hilarious.

Planning on it being an A+, probably would give it a B-

High-Rise - 2.5/5

After the death of his sister, a doctor moves into the 25th floor of a 40 story a fancy high rise in which the wealthier tenants live in the higher floors and the poorer ones on the lower. When tensions flare triggering a class war, the doctor is caught in the middle as to which side to take. Violent black comedy about the dark side of capitalism that starts out good and then loses it once the chaos ensues about midpoint.

Certified Copy - 4.5/5

An English author goes to Italy to promote his latest book. While giving a lecture he meets the owner of an antiques gallery who may or may not be someone from his past. Abbas Kiarostami's first film outside of Iran is an excellent European art house film about the perception of reality that in some ways channels Antonioni, Bu˝uel and Resnais. William Shimell and especially Juliette Binoche are great.

Waxwork (1988)

Watched this for the 1st time ever last night on the Shudder streaming channel.

Holy crap that was campy as hell. Some really horrendous acting.

I liked Zach Galligan from the Gremlins movies, but man I really didn't like him here.

and you could tell this was made with almost no money. The special FX were ultra low budget.

Maybe I would have liked this more as a 15 year old back in 1988. But I thought it was pretty terrible.

I watched The Bronze today. I thought Melissa Rauch was really good in it, but the movie overall was just ok. 2.75/5

Don't Think Twice - Enjoyable character piece about improv as an art vs improv as a path to greater success, great cast
Keeping up with the Joneses - Gal Gadot and Isla Fisher, in lingerie, (and then eventually) kissing made up for many misgivings
Masterminds - About what you'd expect from the director of Napoleon Dynamite doing a true life crime story
Bad Moms - Pretty enjoyable

Rogue One Entertaining. Made the prequels look like a waste of time.

Cloak and Dagger (1984)

Noticed it on HBO Go. Hadn't seen since VHS almost 30 years ago.

Fun spy movie with some heart.

Not really impressed with the HD transfer. Colors looked really washed out.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

We Are Still Here...holy fuck was this awesome. Hands down best, gripping, shocking horror movie I've seen since The Orphanage not too long ago, but wow with this one. This knocked the creepiness out of the park, but to show you the demons and the carnage out right was totally unexpected. Not that I would have minded the little seen apparition stuff, but this knocks you on the head and shows it all. Just excellent!
