The Hanger 1 was ok but that whole series is overrated.
Search Party on Cinemax
TJ Miller and Thomas Middleditch should be added to the most annoying actors thread lol.

I watched Kubo and the Two Strings this evening and I loved it. Laika is rivaling Disney in making quality animated films. I highly recommend checking this out if you have time during the holidays. 4.5/5

Bad Moms...very enjoyable. Not nearly laugh out loud funny as I was led to believe and much more heart, but did chuckle and had a smile on face most of time. Very nicely done.

Clip - 2.5/5
A 14-year-old Serbian girl engages in self-destructive behavior because she is unhappy with her family life and can't deal with the fact that her father is dying. I appreciate the film's bluntness, but somewhere in there is a better film that could have focused more on the inner turmoil of our central character and less on the gratuitous scenes of explicit sexuality.

Kubo and the Two Strings (3D)...wow. Just breathtaking. Beautiful, gorgeously rendered scenery. Heart, humor, thoughtful and action. Stunning. The 3D wasn't all that though. Thought it was a little flat for such lush landscapes. 4.5 stars.

Knight of Cups - 2.5/5
At least it was better than To the Wonder. What the hell is going on? Feels like after The New World, Terrence Malick was kidnapped and replaced with an imposter. Props to Chivo for the great cinematography.

Running for his Life: The Lawrence Phillips story (2016)
Sports documentary film about the tragic story of Lawrence Phillips. He played Running Back for Nebraska and had a very brief NFL career.
I know most in this thread who comment and post probably aren't sports fans, but this was such an amazing film about a really talented young man who had a promising career ahead until alcohol and violence against women ended his career and sent him to prison. He ultimately committed suicide back in January. It was honestly chilling. It was a mix of sports film along with true crime documentary.
It's narrated by Jeffrey Wright who's in the HBO series Westworld.
Even if you've never heard of him and aren't a sports fan, I think this is still a really compelling watch and you can still enjoy it. It's currently available on Showtime and all it's platforms.

The Place Beyond the Pines (2012)
Been wanting to see this for awhile. It aired on Cinemax back in the summer, I recorded it and finally had a chance to see it today.
Very long movie (145 minutes) and I think it ran out of steam at the end. But, I thought it was pretty good for the most part. I liked how it portrayed Gosling and Cooper's characters from different sides of the track and how things came in full circle with their sons being involved in the story years later.

Sully - really enjoyed this. Great story, great directing, and a great cast.
Florence Foster Jenkins - I was surprised by how much I liked this one. Streep is excellent, as always, and Hugh Grant is wonderful as Jenkins' husband/enabler. Simon Helberg is also really terrific as her nervous pianist. It probably helped that I watched this with several (~10) people, as it was fun to laugh together at the scenes of Jenkins' horrible singing. It's a sad, funny, and sweet story.

The Soft Skin - 4.5/5
While on a business trip to Portugal, a professional lecturer and middle aged family man falls for a younger airline stewardess. His life becomes even more complicated as he tries to juggle his infidelity into his already busy life. Francois Truffaut's fourth film, which contains several homages to Hitchcock, is a forgotten gem that deserves more praise.
