Dans Paris - 2/5

After breaking up with his girlfriend, a young man suffering from depression moves in with his womanizing younger brother and his divorced father. Starts off with potential and then becomes a poor excuse of an homage to the French new Wave.

Exposed aka Daughter of God - Sure, it carries the Declan Dale moniker (think Alan Smithee in terms of a director taking his name off of film) but there was tons to like in the film. I was surprised by some of the surrealistic angles and certain plot points. I wonder if we'll ever get the proper cut of Daughter of God? I'd love to see the differences.

The Lady in the Car with Glasses and a Gun (2015) - Fantastic remake of the 1970's French film by painter/director Joann Sfar. The film oozes style and psychosis in abundance! The lead is gorgeous and Stacey Martin (Nymphomaniac) makes an appearance.

To Fly! (IMAX-Laser remastered version) - great sound, almost as good 15/70 image quality.

Angel's Fall - 4/5

The life of a woman involved in an abusive relationship with her father takes a drastic turn when she is given a suitcase with the clothes of a deceased woman.
Well made meditative film from Turkey about spiritual redemption similar to the works of Tarkovsky, Tarr & Tsai.

Yeah, I liked it. I also have the Art of the Film book to go with it. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Paramount pulled it at the last minute, because it was inaccessible to children. I would agree. There's more of a philosophical edge to the whole thing. It would have bored them. The animation and art techniques throughout were epic, though.

Hadn't seen that in a while and it's good mindless fun although more sedate than a White House Down or Olympus Has Fallen

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Wild Card - Wow, and I thought Statham couldn't do any other "non-action" film roles like the excellent "Redemption" but I was wrong. There are only 2 major action scenes in the film that runs about 85 minutes. Yes, it's a drama for the most part but I really liked the material and the fact that William Goldman wrote the script makes it stand out. I am also curious about the "extended cut" being offered by Amazon and VUDU. It's 10-12 minutes longer.
