Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

just watched Room, Brie Larson was terrific, as was the whole cast. Creepy topic, pulled off and watchable on many levels by some great performances.

Pretty vanilla but a nice movie to watch with the wife

A little weird but short and enjoyable. Kristen Stewart always looked like a trans in mid transition to me, but in this one she looked like a girl. Always had a huge crush on Connie Britton and that hasn't diminished.

Cul de Sac - 4/5

The lives of an older man and his young wife are disrupted when a couple of wounded criminals show up one night seeking refuge. A tension filled black comedy about dysfunctional characters who prey on each other's weaknesses. Another gem from Roman Polanski.

The Long Goodbye - 2.5/5

Private investigator Philip Marlowe is thrown into a web of deceit when after he helps his friend leave the country, his friend's wife turns up dead. Robert Altman updates Raymond Chandler’s novel to the 1970's by giving us a man still living in the 40's trying to deal with the values of a different era. As with a lot of his films, Altman flips the genre on its head, but this time the results are not all good.

Ride Along 2 (2016) - 3/5
I like it better than the first one. I like the addition of Ken Jeong but Olivia Munn doesn't add much to the movie. Plot is not important and is just needed to bring back Kevin Hart and Ice Cube back together. Benjamin Bratt seems to be having fun with his role. Recommended only if you seen the first movie and liked it.

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016)

Saw this last Tuesday and really had a lot of fun watching it. Lots of action and solid cast. I thought it was one of Michael Bay's best movies that wasn't a summer blockbuster.

A Walk in the Woods, with Redford/Nolte.

Based on the Bill Bryson book, nice scenery of the Appalachian Trail Nolte looks awful, and Redford was kinda wooden in it, but I kinda liked the story.

Not a great flick tho.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Well done but I question the casting of Paul Dano and John Cusack to play the same person. Very very depressing since its about Beach Boy Brian Wilson, his psychoses, and his manipulative therapist. Couldn't get all the way through it.

Question on 13 hours. It was supposed to be very accurate and then reports came out about Hollywood license. It seems it's nearly impossible to have a movie about an actual event that sticks to the facts and is entertaining. Of course you can have two people at the same event have completely different opinions on what happened based on their point of view. Any research into the accuracy?

It was not that bad and it had its moments. I wonder how it would have turned out if Richard Linklater directed?

Bone Tomahawk on amazon prime...

Great cast, really solid western with a spin. Enjoyed it quite a bit.

3.5/5

just wanted to add this great line by Kurt Russell:

Spoiler:
When he is mangled out in the cave, and says to Jenkins old Man "You say hello to my wife for me, and I will say hello to yours" Just a great line, well delivered scene with a great line

Saw Interview with a Vampire tonight at one of my local ArcLight Cinemas in 35mm. Had not seen the film in like 5 years give or take. The film holds up well to this day. I was always a fan of Neil Jordan.

Good movie. Been awhile since I saw it, but didn't know that Lee Pace from The Hobbit was in it.
