Map to the Stars - 3.5/5
What a mindfuck of a movie and Julienne Moore performance was jarring.

Woman In Gold - 3.5/5

True story of a Jewish-Austrian woman who flee the Nazi from her country and attempts to reclaim family possessions including the portrait of her aunt by Gustave Klimt. Good performance by both Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds but I thought Tatiana Maslany stole the film as the younger Maria Altmann.

Two Days, One Night - 4/5

A woman suffering from depression finds out that while on leave from her job she is being laid off so that her co-workers can receive their bonuses. An interesting critique by the Dardenne brothers on the dehumanization of the worker and how management keeps them in line by pitting them against each other. As always (especially when she's not used as pretty window dressing in big budget commercial fluff) Marion Cotillard delivers another excellent performance.

I wanted to punch that skinny little child actor. He was a douche.

Moore on the toilet was something to see.

I liked that movie though no character was really likeable.

Circle (2015) - My random watch of the day. 50 people wake up in a room on circular gameboard, one is killed every two minutes. The players strategize and try to figure out what has happened, what the rules are and who lives or dies. Entertaining if a bit heavy handed at times, still worth a look. This is now on Netflix.

Outrage - 3/5

The chairman of an organized crime family tells one of his underlings that in order to show his loyalty he must sever ties with the boss of another family. Takeshi Kitano is back in gangster mode but don't expect the greatness of Sonatine.

300: Rise of an Empire 3D...good 3D, not a great movie. lacked the newness and awe of the first. a little disappointed.

Insidious: Chapter 3...terrible. amateurish and dopey with only jump scares. expected more from Whannell.

Got a chance to rent some movies after being pretty busy.

Knock Knock (2015)

A middle aged man's sex fantasy with 2 young hotties gone straight to hell.

I'd give it a C only because of the girls. Keanu was terrible in this.

Poltergeist (2015)

Just unnecessary and unscary remake.

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...LL._SY445_.jpg

Premature (2014)

Cute Indie sex comedy basically mixing American Pie and Groundhog Day.

The Gallows (2015)

Another one of those low budget "found footage" horror movies.

Pretty bored of this genre. Cast is pretty much no names. Not God awful, but certainly not good. The big twist at the end is kind of lame.

The Final Girls (2015)

Really enjoyed this. Fresh take on the horror genre with some comedy elements added.

Complete the loop and watch Beyond Outrage.

Beyond Outrage - 2.5/5

Five years after the first film, a power struggle ensues between the two largest organized crime families. Soon the double-crossings begin and the bodies start to drop. Not as good as the original.

Yeah, I liked the first one better, too. Original? Beyond Outrage is the sequel to Outrage.

5 Flights Up Basically what would have been a heart warming story about your grandparents and their search for a new apartment in NYC was turned into a movie. It had all the excitement of an insurance seminar.

Read again : Not as good as the original.

Takeshi Kitano will never top his masterpieces Fireworks & Sonatine. I heard that new restored Region B Blu Rays of Fireworks, Dolls & Kikujiro are coming out in the first quarter of next year.

Curse of Chucky

It was fine, better than the last one. I don't have high expectations for this series, so I guess I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't continue the downward trend they've been on.

2 hour Jesse Stone movie that aired last night on Hallmark Channel.

It's the 1st new movie since CBS cancelled the series.

Thought it was super slow.

Steve Jobs

3.5/5 - good acting and technically well made, I thought the script was a bit ragged.

It was ok for a Wed night viewing on your DVR.

It had some funny moments with Rob Riggle though it seemed like they could not decide if they wanted to go all raunch or melodramatic.

I Spit On Your Grave III: Vengeance is Mine (2015)

This is an actual follow up the the 1st movie from 2010. Some pretty sadistic violence in this movie. The main character , Jennifer Hills, has seriously lost it in this movie and does some seriously crazy shit.

Watch it only if your a fan of these movies. If there is such a thing as "Torture Porn" as a genre, this qualifies. It will make you squeamish

Some examples of the sadistic violence:

Spoiler:
A rapist gets the top of his penis chewed off when the main character Jennifer is forced to give him a BJ, then she takes a knife, grabs it and slices it in half. He falls and bleeds to death.

A child molester gets tortured and gets a giant pipe inserted into his ass and then the main character takes a giant block hammer and pounds the pipe into his ass until he dies. That was a seriously fucked up scene.

I like Brother. I wish we had that on BD. That was my intro to the man.
