Avatar 3D...fantastic, but still the magic from the theater is lost, slightly, with home theater.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

It looks like June was better than May! BTW, I'm doing a "Summer of Spaghetti & Shaws" (Big marathon of Spaghetti Westerns and Shaw Bros) That's why so many of these titles are gonna pop up.

Fury (2014)
Mr. Wu
Word of Mouth (Smart softcore)
The Ice Pirates
Leviathan (2014) (Had high hopes for this)
Split Second (1953)
A Most Violent Year
Gas Pump Girls
Snowpiercer
The Babadook
Spoiler:
But seriously, what Australian horror movie is there where a dog doesn't get killed?

Factory Girl (Surprised to like this one)
Deadful Melody
True Crime
Graffiti Bridge (And Under The Cherry Moon is said to be worse than this???)
War of the Planets
Peabody and Sherman (Ending could've been re-worked, but I couldn't believe how much I was laughing in the early going)
The Rose
Scaramouche (1923) (Other than going on a lil' too long)
Man on Fire (Just could've done without that overkill style)
Wind Across The Everglades (Best unknown-gem of the month)
Tyson (2008)
The 3 Penny Opera
She-Demons Of The Black Sun (lol)
The Break-Up (But I give them credit for keeping that ending in)
My Bodyguard (One of those movies that I had secretly been wanting to see since the 80's. Ended up liking it)
Reprise
Love is a Gun
Aliens vs Predator: Requiem
Danger Signal
The Swordsman in Double Flag Town (aka Double Flags) (Snake, have you seen this one?)
Jurassic World
13 Most Beautiful…Songs for Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests
(Mostly for the music)
My Name Is Pecos (Refreshing to see a spaghetti-western that has a heroic Mexican in a non-Mexican Revolution setting)
A Kiss Before Dying (1953)
Shaolin Martial Arts
Castle of Sand (BEST movie of the month)
The Screentest Girls
The Constant Gardener
Train for Durango
The Sky Crawlers
Banksy Does New York
(I'm surprised I never heard of this event)
Tomorrow Is Another Day
Ladies in Retirement (It's official. Ida Lupino is now my favorite actress from the classic era)
The Zodiac Killer
Satan’s Princess
Sweethearts
Confessions of a Pop Performer (What the hell, I'll give it a pass for a lot of those hottie 70's Brit babes)
As Above, So Below (Though it was different to see a found-footage film end in a way that we're not accustomed to seeing. Still wasn't enough)
Full Moon Scimitar
The People Against O’Hara
One Damned Day at Dawn… Django Meets Sartana! (There's no Sartana to be found here, but I still liked this. The baddies got more screentime than the heroes)
Transformers: Age of Extinction
Getting Any?
Ken Park (Not because I liked it. Because it's got balls......Literally)
Compliance
The Assassin (1967)
The Quiet American (1958)
2069: A Sex Odyssey
Valentino
O Lucky Man! (Though I liked the first half of it more than the 2nd)
Lion Vs. Lion
The Swarm (The screams in this And too bad Michael Caine and Slim Pickens didn't get to exchange lines)
Titicut Follies
Dr. Goldfoot and the Girl Bombs
Revenge of the Resurrected (Kind of like an intelluctual Death Rides a Horse)
The Woman on the Beach
The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant (I guess I just wasn't in the proper mood for this)
Wakefield Poole's Bible! (Never knew Georgina Spelvin could look hot!)
They Won’t Believe Me
Satan’s School for Lust (Only about 60 minutes long. Felt like 35. For that, it got the job done)
The Mask of Dimitrios
The Pirate (1973)
Destination Moon
Django Shoots First
Jackie Chan's First Strike (Had quite a bit of fun with this)
Lolita from Interstellar Space
Demon Hunter (Colleen Porch )
How to Train Your Dragon 2
Zotz!
Another Heaven

Watched Last Knights and it was pretty entraining. It was directed by Kazi Kiriya. He directed Casshern(live action) and Goeman. Goeman is legit but I don't remember Casshern too much. It's basically a samurai movie with knights.

Not a good sign when an hour into a movie, you're checking to see how much longer until the end. And just like my wife when we have sex, you keep asking isn't it over yet?

Some people like the "slow burn". For me I found it boring, miscast, and lacking chemistry. For as glad as I am that I didn't waste $9 at the movies, I'm just as pissed I wasted $3 on a rental.

Slow burn only works if it's interesting along the way.

Same here. Caught the 11:10am show this morning. 4 out of 5 stars (B). Liked it quite a bit. No real huge complaints.

Really like this movie. This second viewing I got more of a sense of his PTSD. In the theater the closing scene of the funeral really got me emotional. Was surprised this viewing did it again.

Terminator Genisys IMAX 3D (free, used gift cards) - Very entertaining film, and I think WOM on this film may actually help it maintain some legs past this weekend.

I don't know whats worse, the film itself or the Cahiers Du Cinema critics fawning all over the film.

I've never had such polar opposite feelings over a filmmakers filmography. Even in the 60's, I either ADORED or LOATHED his films. With no room for anything in between.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts - it was a lot of fun and not as violent as I was expecting. It was also directed by Butch Lukic, who is no stranger to the Batman animated universe. I also have zero reference point to the "unlimited" universe. At first I thought it was going to be an extension of the cartoon network CGI version. The look of Animal Instincts is a cross between Batman Beyond and BTAS.

Lord of Illusions: Director's Cut (1995)

It's not perfect but I've always loved the ideas in this film.

Hall Pass (Extended Cut)

I'd seen it at the movies with my wife a few years ago and thought it was just alright. For some reason, I found myself really enjoying it last night though. Much better than I'd remembered.
