Well, I wasted 4 minutes of my life watching that Rocky IV sequence, so I guess I have to vote for that.

Kung fu movies have great training sequences, although not often in montage form. Sammo Hung's BLADE OF FURY (1993), though, had a great montage sequence showing the hero and his compadres training under a gung ho song by male singers and it was quite stirring. They were training to fight the Japanese. Tsui Hark's ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA (1991) had cadres of men training under the "Wong Fei-Hung" theme under the opening titles. When I first saw it, it was the first time I'd seen a Wong Fei-Hung film and the first time I heard that music. It was sung in the film and it's usually an instrumental in other Wong Fei-Hung movies (there've been hundreds).

Best of the Best and Best of the Best 2 have a few good ones.

The first movie also has one of the best bar fights as well, imo.

So true, but I love it anyway. Even the cheesy synthpop soundtrack, which I own and still play. Technology vs. working out with logs. I love every minute of it!
