Probably some B-performer who wound up in various Eurocult genres and Asian films (John Saxon? Richard Harrison?), but if we had to pick someone well-known and a bonafide star, I'm thinking Robert De Niro, who's worked with Ivan Passer, Bernardo Bertolucci, Sergio Leone, Alfonso Cuaron, Agnes Varda, Matthew Vaughn, Roland Joffe, and a few more I'm sure.

Richard Gere got to work with Kurosawa. Sure that's one man but a pretty huge catch for an American actor.
