All the early movies are tied together:

1. Dr. No is an agent of SPECTRE
2. Rosa Klebb is an agent of SPECTRE ("Number Three"), we are also introduced to Blofeld ("Number 1")
3. Goldfinger is revealed to be an agent of SPECTRE
4. Largo is an agent of SPECTRE ("Number Two")
5. Blofeld ("Number One") is seen in the flesh
6. More Blofeld
7. Even more Blofeld

It isn't until Live and Let Die that we get a non-SPECTRE story, although I think the Goldfinger connection was retconned in later films.

This isn't even accounting for recurring characters M, Moneypenny, and Q.

The system hasn't been fucked, I just tend to skip over most your posts ever since your statement this June that Prometheus was worse than Alien Resurrection and almost on par with Alien VS Predator: Requiem. I fully respect honest opinions, and I too was slightly disappointed by Prometheus, but obvious bullshit hyperbole like that I never really look past or get over. Never have.

And yet, what I posted in this thread about Sylvia Trench was a fact, not an opinion.

Yeah. Jesus titty fucking Christ.

I mean, I might not totally agree w/ Supermallet's huge as fuck hard on of venom for Prometheus..but he did have points in why it wasn't amazing and I agree on about 80-90%. But it's far from the shit he makes it out to be.

Again...it's a goddamn movie. And WeylandYutani...I guess he got kicked in the **** by the words of Supermallet, man. Or something, man.

Re: Skyfall (Mendes, 2012) — The Double-O Reviews Thread

To Weyland's defense, comparing anything to Alien vs Predator: Requiem is a huge insult. I mean Prometheus was bad, but it was beautifully shot, reasonably acted film with potential. AvP:R was a snooze inducing CW pilot that wasn't given a series order.

But still, just movies.

Just trying to get the thread back on track. Did anyone watch the Bond Top Gear special? I caught it last night and it was pretty good.

No, you are not alone. I like Casino Royale better, but the fact that QoS picks up right after the first movie makes it feel pretty epic. I really didn't have the problems with him that many people seem to. I thought it was a solid outing, and I'd watch it over ANY older Bond movie.

I never got that from it. Bond never said you killed my wife or even had that look of revenge. Bond never acted like any guy would if he found the guy who killed his wife.

But when he gets back to the office (after the opening credits) M seems to imply that his mission to find Blofeld was one of revenge...he says something like "now that THAT's over with, you can get back to work..." or something along those lines.

Yeah, the way he strangles a woman with her own bra top always felt like a man looking for revenge to me. Also the way he viciously drowns the faux-Blofeld (Fauxfeld?).
