They have to find a way to mass produce that!
Whelp, there's the proof that Mark Hamill wasn't talking crazy when he was saying BB-8 was driving all over the set. I can't wrap my brain around how that thing works but it's super impressive.

I had an inside source that told me, Mark was indeed not crazy.

So everyone is going on about BB-8, which is great. Popular Mechanics tries to figure out what is going on:

In that video, R2-D2 acts almost jealous of BB-8 showing up and taking the "cute droid" spotlight away from R2.

Like the new trailer. Doesn't look anything like early leaked rumors (at least as of last month), and a lot of the sets don't seem to jive with what we've read either, so I am hoping to get some surprises, the best of which would be

Spoiler:
Han lives . But that's doubtful , as I am certain the character's death was conditional to get Harrison Ford.

Loved the new trailer....I was 9 years old when the original Star Wars opened and like many people here...grew up with Star Wars. Can't wait for the film!

Here's a good one though....

BB-8 is going to steal the show. My concern has been that the movie will lean on the older characters too much and use them as a crutch. But BB-8 looks promising and gives me hope that they're putting serious effort into the new characters. Everybody is all like "I want to see more Chewie/Han/Boba/Yoda!" Whereas I want to see new characters that become just as iconic, maybe BB-8 has that potential.

I agree, if the sequel trilogy is going to work, the torch has to be passed to characters we care about.

I hate the rumor that

Spoiler:
Han dies at the hands of the Kylo Ren. I mean, I get it... that would instantaneously make the prime antagonist of the new trilogy a legit threat, but, if Han is going to go out (which I'm afraid he will), I want him going out like a god damned hero, sacrificing himself to perhaps save some of the others... not going out like some punk bitch. I fear he's going to go out in a Tasha Yar/Wash like way, as a throw-away, unexpected, and for shock value. That'd make me pissed.

Dumb question... but stormtroopers are no longer clones? I don't watch the animated shows.

I'm just glad that the talk is how cool BB-8 is instead of how annoying Jar Jar is. Kinda proves that you can have that marketable, fun, kid-friendly character without being all obnoxiously, blatantly, in-your-face about it.

No, otherwise they'd still be called clonetroopers.

If you've read almost ANY of the reports posted at MakingStarWars, it sure does. I was sort of able to guess the order that most of the shots in the trailer will appear in the movie. A lot of it matches the leaked concept art from last year as well.

Kennedy wasn't wrong when she said the new teaser just scratches the surface of what you'll see, as most of it (going by info leaked thus far) looks to be from the first act.

Also: The Carrie Fisher panel just started:
