I have watched this like ten times already, laughing and giggling like a 7 year old all over again.

And seeing the video of the Celebration seeing it for the first time...perfect. Reminds me of the video of the ComiCon crowd seeing the Tron 2 teaser for the very first time when they hadn't even teased the film was coming. Geek joy is awesome.

So. Fucking. Excited.

I don't get very excited about things these days.

This trailer got me super excited.

Boner-excited.

Just got home to download and crank up the volume on this thing... yeah, pretty excited. About the only nitpicks I have is perhaps the falcon feeling a little more CG/lighter... vs the slower, heavier feel that the OT had (but we only have a few shots to go off of) and Chewie... something with the eyes is a bit off (he looks Asian, lol). I wouldn't have minded a little grey, but it's not a big deal.

And I hope JJ doesn't go crazy with the color grading... it's there...but I haven't seen anything too extreme in the teasers.

Really happy with the route they went with Solo's look... they didn't go for the obvious hair dye job, he looks more or less like you'd expect him to.

I'd say one full trailer in Sept/Oct...and that'll about do it until release. Hopefully they stick to the less-is-more marketing they've done so far.

I don't think I've every been as emotionally moved by a trailer as this one. Seeing Han and Chewie again was just EPIC.

But Anakin's body never disappeared... it appears his form is still in the suit when Luke burns it. I know Qui-Gon didn't disappear either, but he also never materialized as a Force ghost in the films. The way that stuff is presented is a big contradictory mess (that I place squarely on Lucas' shoulders).

I got it.
Wasn't Qui-Gon not returning due to Liam Neeson not wanting to return? I know they use his voice in AOTC, but IIRC that's just audio from The Phantom Menace.

Spoiler:
And he does show up as a force ghost in The Clone Wars, which AFAIK is still considered canon.

Both CGI cartoons are canon. The last season also had a storyarc where Yoda learns the Force ghost trick.

I could be mistaken, but I seem to recall Neeson saying something to the effect of shooting Episode I made him consider quitting the acting profession.

Still, I know he told interviewers he was willing to reprise the role when the other prequels were in pre-production. He mentioned there were even discussions of him doing the voice work for AOTC (before Lucas cheapened out and chopped up dialogue from the previous film).

Can't freaking wait.

Didn't think we would see the old guard in a trailer yet.

Ah, good to know! Is Rebels streaming anywhere yet? I don't see it on Netflix or Hulu.

I don't do streaming, so I don't know. Rebels isn't very good though. I gave up on it after six or seven episodes.

Ah, boo. I felt the same about Clone Wars though, and that got much better.

Rebels can be streamed on the Disney XD app. It requires a cable provider login and I don't know if you can watch it on any game consoles or anything but mobile devices or tablets.

The three-part season finale is as good as anything you'll see in Clone Wars.

When seeing the robot on stage:

That soccer ball robot is fucking REAL, that's the takeaway for today. The trailer was also solid, as you guys all said. Han and Chewie baby.

He said it was due to his experience on The Haunting and then Episode 1. Both of them bummed him out on the movie making process.

I hope I'm not spoiling anything, but Chewbacca is a Wookie (fictional), if you're posting here, you're likely human (non-fiction). Comparing when a wookie "should" get gray compared to when a human does get gray hair is pretty silly.

I see what's wrong with chewie -- too much mascara around the eyes. Like amidala in Black swan

Not really, when you consider the fact that writers are taking time to create a world and actually debate/think about answers for many of these scenarios. Especially for something like Star Wars where every little thing has some kind of Wikipedia entry.

Holy shit! This IS the droid we're looking for!

They have to find a way to mass produce that!
