Her voice now has a strained, nasal quality. Hopefully she can change that up and sound a bit more like the Leia we remember. She lost a lot of weight for the movie, but they have her decked out in coveralls (sort of like the Rebel troopers at the start of ANH). We see a bit of that in the new trailer when she's handed Anakin's lightsaber. We don't see her face, but the costume matches the descriptions that are out there: grey/blue with black vest. I'm sure hair and make-up will go a long way with the look as well, as Carrie seems fond of wearing heavy eye make-up and dark lipstick these days.

He did say he went overboard on the flashy/bright visuals for Trek, because it was the "future", which should look bright and glaring. But Star Wars is "long time ago", so no need for that.

Yeah, chills. That was truly awesome.

My son hates 3D but fuck it, I'm still seeing this opening weekend in Imax 3D.

That line Han spoke, which is taken out of context, I thought it was a nice touch. Reminded me of that part in Coming to America with The Duke brothers cameo.

Random speculation not based on reading any spoilers-
Han's line at the end implies he had a somewhat arduous journey to "get back home", so I'm guessing he and Leia will spend most of the movie apart, with Leia at the homestead doing her diplomatic and family stuff- hence a lot of medium close ups and static shots. Ford scenes will have more activity to them so he needs to look more fit and trim...which he is. Fisher's role demands likely won't be the same. She probably will be around to dispense exposition, look concerned, and give other characters their signature props and marching orders.

This is an excellent point. I will enjoy the trailer for what it is, but keep my overall expectations for the movie tempered.

Can someone please help...I wasn't quite sure, but was Han's jacket blue or brown in the trailer?

out of the "big three", Luke, Han, and Leia, I'm surprised they blew their wad showing Han first. Obviously Ford is the biggest star of the three, and for most, including myself, Han's the coolest and best character in the OT. I won't be quite as excited to see older Luke and Leia.

ps: and yeah, Chewie should have at least one or two grey hairs.

Blew their wad? All he did was stand and say that line that's awkward out of context, but well intended for the fans.

They're pretty restrained w/ SW in it's teasers. Which is good. Just teases.

Unless they're breaking canon (which wouldn't be the first time) then Mace Windu can't be a Force Ghost. The prequel trilogy (which is still canon) established that Qui-Gon was the first Jedi to learn the Force Ghost trick. He then taught it to Yoda and Obi-Wan. How Anakin learned it is never explained.

If anakin can do it and never be explained, couldn't that same logic be applied to mace? (not saying that he will, just trying to follow that logic above)

Honestly, not as good as this one.

Here's the original for a reminder:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/uo5PYJvAAMI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

There are a LOT of red flags in there. Stupid Jar Jar antics, the robot army, lots of shots of CGI creatures. The only stuff that looks good is pretty much any time someone is holding a lightsaber and that remained the only good stuff in the movie.

I realize that hindsight is 20-20 but if we weren't all flipping out over the fact that it was a new Star Wars movie, I think everyone would have been a lot more critical.

Most of the sets were real, physical sets. The Robot I believe is a real robot as well and not cgi.

Rey could be an alias, but the names Kira Rey and Kylo Ren do have a nice symmetry. Wonder why that is?

Well, I suppose so, but honestly I would hope that they hold to canon better than the prequel trilogy did.

A big point of the prequel trilogy was that the Jedi Council were a bunch of clueless idiots, and Qui-Gon was better and wiser than all of them. If Mace Windu somehow knew the Force Ghost trick before he died, then it would most likely be something every Jedi knew.

My best guess is that Anakin somehow learned it from Palpatine. Palpatine was basically the ultimate badass, so he likely knew how to do it as well. The prequels did basically establish as well that the Sith were more powerful than the Jedi.

Holy shit, now THAT is a trailer! I was meh on the first one, but that gave me chills. It was like being a kid again. Fuck, now I'm excited and I have to wait until Christmas. At least I have The Avengers to tide me over.

Of the OT, Han was far and away the coolest character.
But for these films, I'm vastly more interested in seeing Luke, as I expect his character to be a substantially more dramatic component of a trilogy spanning arc the film will likely have.

Won't be surprised to see people walk out of this film thinking Luke was (finally) one of the coolest characters in it...as he's old, jaded, weathered- not the fresh scrubbed, whiny little bitch he seemed though most of the OT. I expect Abrahms and Co. to make him a laconic bad-ass.

I also think that showing Han first was the smart move. He's the most popular character from the OT, but I suspect that the storyline will hinge much more around Luke (as Paul mentioned above), and seeing him as a full on Jedi Master will really be an incredible reveal.

The Complete Saga is back ordered on amazon.com for 10-14 days and bestbuy.com shows it as not being available for shipping. I guess the trailer is doing its purpose and getting people excited.
