Nah, there should be a huge friggin' space battle going on while Leia gives birth, and even though Han's taking the Falcon through a difficult series of evasive maneuvers, he still manages to have a loving conversation with her and come up with names for the kids.

Happy Star Wars Day from J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan:

More casting announcements are definitely coming.

I was checking Twitter to see if any of the cast members posted an update about the movie today, but no luck. While not a verified account, I did find Daisy Ridley's Twitter feed (registered in 2009). She wished everyone a Happy Star Wars Day this morning, then followed up with one final tweet before deleting her account:

She was probably inundated with a bunch of creepy DMs from fanboys and decided to step away... or perhaps the studio had something to do with it. I read on another site that Disney were the ones who requested her acting showreel be blocked on YouTube and Vimeo. Seems a bit silly to me.

So if Han dies, does that mean Lando will wear his clothes - like he did in the end of ESB when Han was frozen?

"in smuggler outfit"

...because when you're smuggling illegal drugs--I mean, spice--across borders, you want to be wearing the official drugrunners' uniform.

So no other big news bombs today? Was kinda hoping for an announcement of the originals on Bluray...

It seems silly to build up this day on the social media and then not drop something big.

I hope a gungan and ewok mated, and Episode VII will feature the gunwok offspring as a main character. Maybe that's what CGI character Serkis is playing.

First posted on the official Star Wars Instagram, could this selfie with Disney CEO Bob Iger be our first look at Peter Mayhew in his Episode VII Chewbacca suit?:

If legit, I guess that makes for a decent end to "Star Wars Day". I was hoping they would get the look of Chewie right and that suit captures him perfectly. Younger version or not, the mask they used in Episode III just looked wrong:

Wookies age differently, he's already 200 years old when he meets Luke.

I still say the perfect release timeframe for the OOT on BluRay (if they decide to release them) is next year when they start promoting Episode 7. The movie promotion will rely heavily on Ford, Fisher, and Hamill, what better time to release the OOT then to coincide with the return of the Big 3 on the big screen?

Hopefully this link works, but here is an early Episode 7 poster from MTV.com:

I'm actually surprised the original trilogy isn't coming back to theaters next year...perhaps Disney just wants to keep everyone at Lucasfilm focused on the new movie - but re-releasing the original films (the ORIGINAL original trilogy) for a limited run would be a great way to get everyone hyped up next fall.

Theatrical re-releases of films don't make money anymore. There's a reason Disney stopped with the theatrical releases of the 3D versions of Star Wars.

It's possible we could see something like a limited digital-only marathon of all the films immediately prior to the release of Episode 7, something like an all-day marathon of Eps 1-6 leading up to a midnight screening of Ep 7. However, even then, I doubt they'd use the original versions of Eps 4-6; despite the sizable demand online for the original versions, we're still a niche market.

That poster is probably pretty spot on in the roles. Not bad.

The 3D version of The Phantom Menace made something like $40 million domestically and $100 million worldwide...and that was the freakin' Phantom Menace. You're telling me if they re-released the original Star Wars trilogy, sans special edition enhancements, to theaters during September and October it wouldn't make a profit? I beg to differ.

I think the real issue may be having to team with Fox if they wanted to re-release the first film. I think that's going to be a deal breaker for any future Blu-ray release as well. We'll see.

I'm 99.9% sure Adam Driver isn't going to be Jango Fett.

I don't know why people think wookiees would age at the same rate as humans. Even on our own planet, lifeforms age at different rates. For example, dogs age faster than humans. Yoda was 900 when he died. Maybe wookiees also have a long lifespan and age slowly.
