Instead of Ghostbusters 3 there should be a movie
where Dan Akroyd is on a quest to have the movie made, like Spinal Tap mixed with Argo style.

Re: Instead of Ghostbusters 3 there should be a movie
I wouldn't want to watch that either.

How about a movie from the ghosts' point of view! They're the good guys and the ghostbusters are the monsters trying to kill them!
Mind blown! |
Re: Instead of Ghostbusters 3 there should be a movie
We need a National Geographic documentary on the migration habits of tauntauns as they search for food while avoiding packs of wampas.

Instead of Dan Akroyd trying to get the film made, Dan Akroyd reprises his role as Ray Stantz trying to get a film about the Ghostbusters made. During filming, supernatural activity spikes, and the actors portraying the original four get pressed into service as real Ghostbusters because the original guys are physically unable to keep up and must serve as advisers. |

Technically Ghostbusters don't kill ghosts they contain them.

I could see them going the route of documentary/Cloverfield style for a Ghostbusters movie and I would hate it.

In other news the Ghostbusters "spinoff" that was to be directed by the Russo Brothers was officially cancelled by Sony 2 days ago.

Re: Instead of Ghostbusters 3 there should be a movie
Ghostbusters 3 never got beyond a script stage, right? The only thing that could work along these line is a documentary like Death of Superman Lives, but that movie had years of pre-production.

Re: Instead of Ghostbusters 3 there should be a movie
So since the ghostbusters thread is currently closed I think this video deserved to be shared from the very good youtube channel Midnight's Edge. In short Ivan Reitman wanted to make an actual sequel and a passing of the torch movie with a younger and mixed gender cast, and in line with both Ghostbusters movies that is funny and scary. He clashed with studio head Amy Pascal over the casting, she used Harold Ramis's passing to push Reitman aside, and brought in Paul Feig since they both wanted to do an all female reboot. Now everyone is pissed with what we are getting is a reboot. I honestly can't believe a studio head could be so blatantly disrespectful to the creators and fans of Ghostbusters, this movie deserves all the hate.
