His grandstanding in his movies as well as his controversial public persona are sometimes difficult, but I will say this, he has at least hitched his wagon to some very interesting directors-Spielberg, Bird, DePalma, Woo, Singer, Anderson, Mann, Kubrick, Stone. He at least gets that an opportunity to work with an interesting director is sometimes worth pursuing, he hasn't just stuck to the same genre all the time.

I was bored to tears in Oblivion, but I guess I'll give this a shot. Trailer looks good, but I'm still pissed they changed the title from "All You Need Is Kill" - which I thought was kinda cool.

This does look good. Didn't really care for the original trailer, but I like this one. Definitely love seeing lots and lots of Emily Blunt in this.

Doug Liman is dependable mediocrity these days, but he never quite rose above his potential. Go was unimaginative, derivative 90's swill of the worst kind. Bourne Identity and Mr. & Mrs. Smith were acceptable diversions, but IMO Liman has never lived up to the dramatic promise he showed in Swingers. And Jumper... Jesus...

Our local military theater is doing a free sneak this Saturday. Based on the few reviews I've seen, I'll stand in line for an hour to see it.

The trailers I've seen make the movie look pretty weak, but then again I thought the exact same thing about Oblivion and loved that. I'm not a huge Tom Cruise fan, but he does have a pretty solid track record choosing his projects (with a few notable exceptions).
