I dug the Ernest movies when I was younger, but doubt I would enjoy them much today. Would kids today be interested?

For Ernest to have a son, he would have had to have sex with a woman, and I can't imagine that happening. Actually I'm such a sick bastard that I can- I should write a porno script called "This Isn't Ernest" or something like that!

"Know what I mean" is the new "That's what she said."

Knowhatimean is one word in the Ernest universe. There was a tape of Ernest commercials released on "Knowhatimean Home Video".

I don't think he ever got the chance, but I wish Varney had lived long enough to take on some against-type roles. I always thought he'd make a great antagonist with the right script.

I loved him fighting himself in his going to jail movie. Not only that, but if people remember the movies, he did have some women lovers...

The most disturbing thing about this movie is that it requires the audience to acknowledge that Ernest practiced sexual intercourse to the point of climax with some lucky lady.

Varney was a Shakespearean trained actor. I'm certain he could have had a great career in dramatic and other comedic roles. He unfortunately existed in a time before anyone would have considered casting him as such. He was a television "low-brow" movie actor and films were for a respectable esteemed few. I think if he was alive today there is a good chance the right role would have come along and someone would have cast him. Don't smoke, kids.
