I think it looks better then I was expecting, but would agree that it probably won't duplicate the success of the first movie.
I don't know my greek/persian history, but reading Wikipedia I guess Eva Green's character is a "bad" person?

Looks "blah" to me. But then I didn't like the first film at all.

Love the first one and this looks pretty cool too. The naval combat is a nice change of pace.

"Fucking" or "pretty", which is it?
I'll use both to say it looks pretty fucking mediocre. Loads of aping Snyder's dreadfully-overdone slow-mo, no iconic lead like Butler, and, worst of all, the whole thing just looks like a big video game on screen. I'm so exhausted with films shot entirely on green screen; they leave me feeling nothing.

Sullivan Stapleton from Strike Back makes this an automatic watch.
If you still haven't seen Strike Back, watch it.

The only reason I would even consider seeing this is for Eva Green, who looks like she is having an absolute blast ripping shit up.

THE ONLY reason "300: Rise of an Empire" might be worth seeing is because of Eva Green. I'm beginning to think of her as the Nic Cage of actresses. This isn't an insult either. Like Cage the crazier her character is the better she is. She's batshit in this. She's the only one actually doing anything of note. Everything else feels like a "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" extended episode.
