Shia LaBeouf Will Have Unsimulated Sex in Lars von Trier’s NYMPHOMANIAC
To say Shia LaBeouf has come a long way since his days as an adorable goofball on The Disney Channel’s Even Stevens is a bit of an understatement. After working in big budget fare with directors like Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay, LaBeouf has now sworn off franchise films for good. He’s perfectly content in the indie/dramatic world, and if you thought he’d gone a little far with his recent full-frontal appearance in a Sigur Ros music video, wait until you see him in Antichrist director Lars von Trier’s Nymphomaniac.
The outspoken director hasn’t shied away from talking about the explicit nature of Nymphomaniac, which follows the erotic events in the life of a woman (Charlotte Gainsbourg) from her youth to age 50. LaBeouf will star alongside Stellan Skarsgard, and the actor recently revealed that von Trier has no plans to “simulate” the sex happening in the film. He’s going for the real thing.

ive read that Lars is planning on making this a 2 part movie, and make 2 versions available. a hardcore and a softcore version

I like that Von Trier is all for explicit sex in his films. I wish he'd choose someone other than Gainsbourg, though. I don't find her terribly attractive.

I don't know why..but at times...I do find her attractive. I honestly don't know why. Just something about her. Kind of like Tilda Swinton..

I've seen a couple of Von Trier's movies and really am convinced he just does films for shock value. There was nothing artistic in anything I've seen.
I read something the other day with Shia LaBeouf stating that he will never make another Hollywood blockbuster but only stick to independent films. I guess he's made enough money from the Transformers franchise to pick and choose his output as he pleases, now.

^ He definitely does place a lot of emphasis on shock value, but there's still a great deal of artistry involved in most of his films - particularly Europa, Melancholia, and Breaking the Waves.

Von Trier is an impressive filmmaker but I don't like him as a person...I mean, after he kills himself I'm not going to mourn him in public forums acting as if he was a personal friend...
I think 'The Element of Crime' was a fantastic first film.
'Melancholia' was visually very nice but I felt it lacked something in terms of story. Still very good.
Nympho sounds interesting but I doubt it will actually end up how it is being talked about right now.

IMO he is one of the greatest living today.
I agree, very Tarkovskian.
True, we need to wait for the hype to die down.
I doubt those actors will engage in that kind of activity.
The penetration scene at the beginning of Antichrist were not Dafoe & Gainsbourg.
