A Christmas Story 2
Seriously? Well, I guess who could have guessed this would happen at some point.

Also, I did a forum search before making this thread so don't kill me if there is already a thread about this out there and buried.

Re: A Christmas Story 2
I've never been a big fan of the original. It's good for Christmas background noise, but that's about it. Not sure why; it's just never done anything for me.

No. Just no.
The original is one of the best cult classics...ney...classics of all time. What's next--a direct-to-video sequel called, "Return to Shawshank"?

lol! What is surprising is that this movie is already made and ready to go. I guess they figured that was the best way so that people wouldn't even have a chance to protest.

This would actually be the 7th film about Ralphie and his family:
PBS Films:
"The Phantom of the Open Hearth" 12-23-1976
"The Great American Fourth Of July and Other Disasters" 3-16-1982
"The Star-Crossed Romance of Josephine Cosnowski" 2-11-1983
"Ollie Hoopnoodles Haven Of Bliss" 8-6-1988
Theatrical films:
"A Christmas Story" released on 11-18-1983
"It Runs In The Family" (aka "My Summer Story") on 9-23-1994

Re: A Christmas Story 2
I was going to say, It Runs in the Family was from the mid-90s.
This is like Christmas Vacation 2 with none of the original cast. Absolutely unnecessary.
The first A Christmas Story was my dad's all-time favorite movie, but after he passed away I can't watch it anymore. Not that I really liked it that much to begin with.
Too bad Bob Clark's dead. I'm sure he would've directed this.

How can this movie suck? You got Daniel Stern and director Brian Levant has given us:
- Problem Child 2
- Beethoven
- The Flintstones
- Jingle All the Way
- The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas
- Snow Dogs
- Are We There Yet?
- The Spy Next Door

I love Problem Child 2. That little fucking troll girl is funny as fuck. "Who the hell are you?"
I just heard about this movie this past week. I thought they were just talking about making it, not that it was done already.
I like bad movies, but I wont even try to watch this.

Oh yes, this sounds like a splendid idea... Of course, it couldn't be any worse than Christmas Vacation 2.
