I agree, though, that Keaton's Wayne was better for me, and I personally sensed more menace in his version of the Batman "growl" than in Bale's.
To me Keaton's puckering of his lips is annoying to me as is Bale's voice.

What decade 60's,70's,80's or 90's ?
Connery sounds different in each decade. I can't stand his 90's voice.

I got more James Mason than Connery from Bane, but either way, I fucking LOVED his voice. It made him even more threatening, IMO.

I couldn't help but think of Sigmund Freud from Bill & Ted's when Bane was talking.

I always assumed that is exactly what Teller from Penn and Teller sounds like, so the voice really distracted me.

And I still think Bale's Batman voice is just a louder version of Keaton's.
Not trying to be a fanboy since I liked Keaton as Batman, but Bale was way better in both roles if you ask me. Personally I never bought Keaton as Bruce Wayne at all. He doesn't seem like the millionaire playboy type figure to me really. Bale seems a lot more believable to me in that type of role. Also I know it is a bit odd sounding at times but Bale's voice as Batman still makes perfect sense to me as he's trying to disguise the way his voice sounds from Bruce Wayne. Whereas Keaton sounded a bit different but you could still kind of tell it was him.

LOL...
Spoiler:
Selina kills him with a gun blast from the Batpod.

Great moment too since I kept wondering why none of the cops bothered to shoot him during the final battle instead of running up to fight him hand-to-hand like idiots.

Late 80s / early 90s, I think. Around the time of Last Crusade. Just picture Bane saying "We named the dog Indiana!"

Yes, I will definitely give Bale the "Bat-chin" look over Keaton.

The whole idea of Bane's voice betraying his look and demeanor is obviously intentional, but people like to complain.

Also, if Bane is now regarded as nothing more than Talia's henchman, then DARTH VADER, who Bane is very clearly modeled after, size, strength, voice and all, is nothing more than Tarkin / The Emperor's henchman in the original Star Wars Trilogy.

Vader is absolutely Tarkin's bitch in the first film, and the Emperor's in the third.

But outside of internet fandom, is Vader regarded as such?

Not even remotely.

Saw this again today and I still don't understand where Blake goes at the end of the film. He gets a bag and coordinates and enters the cave, but isn't the cave under Wayne Manor? Why would he need GPS to get there, he's been there numerous times. Is this a secondary, new cave in the jungle somewhere? The landscape seemed very different.

I didn't think the cave was physically underneath it. The elevator led down to the caves, then you had to walk to get to it.

It's obviously intentional, but clearly wasn't the original intention as we can see from the IMAX prologue that features not only a different mix, but an entirely different vocal performance by Hardy.

Honest to God, I did not understand one word of the original.

Oops I meant to quote a different post.

I saw Return of the Jedi first so I went into the SW saga already knowing the relationship between the Emperor and Darth Vader. But I heard from some Star Wars fans saying how it was a bit of let down to see Darth Vader running things in ANH and then later bowing and just "doing thy bidding." Expanded Universe stories and even the prequels at least added the interesting idea that the Sith always betray one another and that Vader was always plotting to overthrow the Emperor eventually.

Finding out Talia was the mastermind at the end was a neat trick but at the expense of fleshing out her character. From the explanations here it's more apparent that Bane and Talia are probably more like partners. Plus, they only have one scene together and it ends with her giving him orders.

He defies the order when she leaves, but that implies that he can't/won't do what he wants in front of her. If they're more like partners then it would have been better for him to reply, "No, we kill him now. He'll just have to imagine the heat."

Vader wasn't running shit in ANH. He was Tarkin's henchman.
