you have no idea how it would've turned out. you just assume it would've been great, since you appear to fawn over him like some sort of god. but hey, if it makes you feel better thinking that way, congrats.

If you look at some of the more negative reviews, several of them whined about Wright

I keep seeing we've a crap baddie again. Per Marvel tradition, I seriously don't know how they have so many issues in letting a baddie get good scripting.

The Wright script had a good villain, but they took that part out when Wright left.

Maybe not, but "The World's End" proved he can definitely make a terrible film.

Jesus - how could he type that while giving Wright a handjob at the same time?

You must've seen a completely different The World's End from everyone else because the one Wright directed was a terrific thematic capper that tied his Cornetto trilogy up splendidly.

I think I must have seen the same one he did, because I'm not a big fan of The World's End. Perhaps I saw the Peyton Reed cut.

I saw the same one you two did apparently.

Everyone? According to rottentomatoes, 71% of the audience liked it, so that's nearly 1 out of 3 people who didn't like it. That's far from everyone.

I know I am damn sick of hearing about Edgar Wright. Seems people can't mention this movie without bringing up his name. Get some new material people.

Jesus is this still going? Wright is a solid director but isn't infallible, and his visual style doesn't really fit the Marvel look anyhow.

Get onto Ant-man discussion. The movie looks mediocre but quite a few folks are praising it like crazy. It currently has a 64% on rotten tomatoes and is headed toward a $55 - $60m opening.

64%? Looking like this might be the first Marvel movie I skip. I'm not a Wright devotee or anything like that (I think Shaun of the Dead is way overrated, Hot Fuzz quite underrated, Scott Pilgrim just a great flick, World's End kind of ehh), but with him at the helm, even at 64%, I probably would have checked it out in theaters.

Easy. It wasn't a handjob. The laptop was on Wright's stomach and the guy obviously was on his knees.

I wouldn't go strictly by RT alone. If you look at the negative reviews, many of them seem to be Wright fanboys who simply aren't giving the movie a fair chance. They are hellbent on giving it a negative ever since Wright left.

A lot of positive reviews are saying it isn't just a good movie, but it is one of the best in the MCU so far, ranking right up there with Winter Soldier and GOTG.

Possible. Of course you could also say the positive reviews mostly seem to be from Marvel fanboys who are hellbent on throwing their support behind it.

Anyway, we'll see how the reviews pan out. There's still only 24 out there.

I did read them and there are a handful in each direction, most seem middle of the road

But...but....it's not good since Wright wasn't the director! Or so I've been told.

Is that the rumor now? Edgar Wright is out??

Ant-Man. A non-Edgar Wright movie. The bomb is about to drop.

Glad to see the RT% tick up. Anything above a 75% usually tilts in the movie's favor, if I'm on the fence. Which I always have been with Ant-Man.

Two friends saw this last night at two different press screenings. One said it was great and hysterical and the other said it was average and just ok.
