So, there's this Guy Ritchie movie called Revolver and it's getting a TON of bad press.

Snatch. is one of my all-time favorite movies, and this is highly disappointing. Here's hoping that it's at least entertaining.

Damn! I'm disappointed to hear that. Lock, Stock is one of my favourites, and I really enjoyed Snatch as well.

Seriously, this is a let-down. I, too, love Lock Stock and Snatch (skipped Swept Away, though).

I liked Lock, Stock, Snatch is one of my favorite movies, and I like Jason Statham so I will still give Revolver a chance when it comes out on DVD.

Looking past the fact that I'm not a Richie fan and haven't really enjoyed any of his previous films, I always thought it was pretty apparent that the guy had displayed enough technical talent to one day pull a rabbit out of his hat and create something praise worthy. Sorry to hear this isn't it, however, with Besson's track record of Producing what I feel is essentially worthless crap lately, I guess this shouldn't have come as too much of a surprise.

I saw it at Toronto. I'm not a fan of Lock, Stock or Snatch so I wasn't expecting to be blown away. I felt they were both stylish but didn't engage me intellectually.
I actually very much enjoyed the first hour or so of "Revolver" and loved the spirit and vibe of the film. Especially the performances of Statham and Andre Benjamin. There is a point when the "plot" takes over and I felt the film went terribly downhill. It's not a good sign when the crowd laughs at the final voice-over of the film.

According to IMDB it's US release is still scheduled for 1/26/06...
Trailers don't look bad... But that's usually the point, right... I'll give it a day in court, why not...

Saw this movie today, I don't get all the bad press to be honest, it isn't great but it's certainly not that bad of a movie.
Hell, I was actually entertained by it for almost its full runtime and it gave stuff to think about at times. Wasn't exactly confusing so much as ambiguous. Ray Liota is a bit annoying and the plot goes haywire, but it's a mostly well-done, largely entertaining movie.
But I appear to be in the minority, so be it. *** / ****
Edit: And yes, it is a bit pretentious in parts. But it never seems forced... but is occasionally laughable.

I thought it was entertaining, and would recommend it.

I watched this the other day and definitely give it a HUGE 
The first 30 minutes wasn't great, but it held my interest.
Then the film got exponentially worse as it went on.
As every minute passed I was more and more confused with the plot.
I can forgive a film for being hard to follow if it's interesting, but Revolver felt like a drunk stranger who just won't shut up. The dialog gets extremely tiresome with many sayings and philosophical quotes being constantly repeated throughout the film.
It tries to be important, but it ends up being ridiculous.
This ranks among the worst films of the year.
I see alot of direct-to-video releases from Guy Ritchie in the future.

I dunno, I still thought it was a relatively straight forward movie.
I mean, I may be way off base but that's pretty much what I gathered. There's some quirkiness here and there, but for the most part, it was just a movie about mindset. Just the same, entertaining flick that, while isn't one of the years best movies, its hardly one of the worst.

I know this movie has gotten a lot of negative reviews but I would really like to check it out. Has anyone here found any info as to when Revolver will be released on DVD here in the US (R1) region?
