Well, if Warner wants to do a Justice League movie now, they'll need to do a lot better than the cast from the aborted George Miller film:
Superman: D.J. Cotrona
Batman: Armie Hammer
Wonder Woman: Megan Gale
The Flash: Adam Brody
Green Lantern: Common
Aquaman: Santiago Cabrera
Martian Manhunter: Hugh Keays

After what Marvel did to get the Avengers on screen, there's no way I'd see WB just throwing a Justice League movie out there to cash in on the superhero team-up genre.
We know Bale is done with Batman after TDKR so my only guess is if they were to start something similar to Marvel it'd be with Man of Steel next summer. They'd need a Green Lantern reboot to get the bad taste of that abomination from last year out of our mouths. Then possibly release other films based off of the DC properties. I couldn't see a Flash, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, or even Wonder Woman really being that profitable when Marvel is putting out sequels to now established franchises.
As big of a library DC has their characters don't necessarily fit in to the cinema mold that Marvel does. I'm sure people will disagree with this but that's just my take. And I don't think you could overdo the superhero genre by having Marvel sequels and then new DC movies opening up withing a month of each other.
I could be totally wrong, though. I probably would've said the same thing 10 years ago about an Iron Man, Cap, and Thor movie. So who knows.

in case you are unfamiliar with the character ... he is an android
in his various incarnations/origins he has taken on the brain patterns of others (most notably those of the then deceased Simon Williams/Wonder Man)
it would be a cool move to have him (when he appears in an Avengers movie) have the brain patterns of Son of Coul to keep his spirit/character alive

Also...he was someone they cared about. If I wanted Viz to come back...who else do you have for him to be the "soul" of him. Coulson was great. Honorable, a hero himself, and a team player who was loved. I'd like to see how they'd do that for sure if Coulson was Viz. The Vision is a great character as well.

Just came back from a packed Sunday afternoon show. Definitely very enjoyable. A long time ago (Batman and Robin era) I doubted that a comic book movie would work with several main characters in it, but The Avengers proved me wrong. The team came together pretty well. And of course, the audience laughed the most with the Hulk. I read all the glowing reviews here before seeing it, and the only minor quibble I have with the movie is the story. In the story department, I would rate it below Spiderman 1&2, the last two Batman movies, and Iron Man. But the action in this movie is probably the best I've seen for any comic book movie. The last battle in NYC is as grand and massive a battle as you could possibly hope for, and it was executed very well.
I gave it ****1/2.

Saw it today with my eleven year old son, and, despite the hype, it exceeded both of our expectations. One thought that stuck with me as I walked out of the theater, "Has Whedon perfected the jump laugh?"

I rated it lower because I felt the first 2 Spidey movies had a more down to earth story- something that audiences from different generations would understand and enjoy. Great power and responsibility (1), and having a double-life and protecting your loved ones from the consequences of your secret identity and powers (2). I could easily imagine a 70-something year old grandma in the audience enjoying a Spiderman movie. But for the Avengers, it was a bunch of scifi comic book geeky techno-babble, all for an excuse to assemble some super-heroes against the villain. That grandma would probably not enjoy Avengers as much. Story-wise, I felt it to be weaker.
Nonetheless, I did enjoy it a lot. Just my $0.02 about the story.

Some of the gags were great. The Galaga bit had me dying.
I liked how they kept the characters consistent. Like when Stark was telling Cap to get to the relay and reset some stuff, I was thinking, how the hell will Cap know what to do? It was gonna bother me if he just started fixing things. But then he gets there and says: "It seems to run on some form of electricity". Had everyone laughing.
Great time at the movies. 5 stars

Stark also called Nighthawk Legolas didn't he? I thought that was just as funny as Point Break. I laughed out loud numerous times during this movie. Really good mix of comedy, seriousness and action. That's something the Transformers movies fail miserably at. The action scenes in Tansformers are almost unparalleled but the comedic stuff is just a joke. Not really sure why I'm comparing Transformers to the Avengers but I guess I'm just saying the Avengers mixed it up really well.
