This is a joint venture with Cameron and National Geographic so chances are it's going to be a special, but since it was shot in 3D it could probably be a documentary.
Ghosts of the Abyss, when theatrically released in IMAX 3D and the very few digital 3D theaters at the time, was only 59 minutes. However, the DVD contained an extended 90-minute version of the film.

Same thing with Aliens of the Deep. When theatrically released, it was only 47 minutes. The DVD also included an extended 99-minute version of the film.

I would assume a similar concept would happen here.

I hop it gets an IMAX release , like back in the day when IMAX was only used for documentaries.

True, but Alien is the superior film.

I have stated numerous times that A L I E N is the better of the two. But that is like saying ESB is better than SW. They are both great.

I honestly can't say which is better. They're both sooooooo fucking strong in their genre roots and so different from one another that I can't determine which is better. I'd say they're both equally perfect. They're both game changers.

I think his character adds the right amount of levity. To me he speaks for the audience. Having said that, I always wondered how his character wound up in an elite group for the Corps.

Both, really. Something about him just grates on me, even in his really good performances like Frailty and A Simple Plan. He is way too bombastic in Aliens, though...much like the rest of the film. (Yes, I prefer 3, and Resurrection doesn't exist.)

This is EXACTLY how I feel about the first 2 Alien movies. I couldn't say it any better.
