Re: Older Epic Ensable Comedies
A lot of great films mentioned here, I do realize now that I should have been a tad more specific with the question:
Pre-1970's Comedies that have an intermission (or are at least >2 hrs in length) & are primarily about a group of people as opposed to just 1 or 2 main characters. |
Re: Older Epic Ensable Comedies
Thought I would give this thread one more bump to see if any forum members remembered some gold they wanted to pass along.

I can't get past ensable and pre-1970's.

Re: Older Epic Ensable Comedies
You know, I'd be up for a Scavenger Hunt remake. I remember really enjoying the wackiness of that movie, as well as the great cast. I'm not sure how it would hold up (not available for streaming anywhere), but it seems like the kind of movie that would lend itself to being remade/updated.

I am laxer on this, pre 1990's is probably a better date, or pre 1987.

What's New, Pussycat?
Casino Royale (1967) |
Re: Older Epic Ensemble Comedies
I backed into a movie that fit this criteria the other day (except for the length (only 96 mins)): Million Dollar Mystery.
The movie was just kinda meh, but the tie in contest and audio commentary were very interesting, also several songs from the soundtrack were quite catchy. |

I thought your criteria was pre-1970s films with an intermission.

Re: Older Epic Ensemble Comedies
If the epic restriction is removed, MASH and Mr Hulot's Holiday are pre-1987 comedies primarily about a group of people.

Kelly's Heroes and Cat Ballou.

Re: Older Epic Ensemble Comedies
The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming! is a 1960s star-studded comedy which includes lots of rushing about.
