Oh I have no doubts about that but there is always a sliver of hope until it actually comes out.

Well, apparently Michael Bay still doesn't know what Robots--and dinosaurs, for that matter---look like.

Yep. Nothing special here for me. Don't even like the Dinobot design.

Hated the first. Didn't even make it through the second and never saw the third. That being said, Optimus on Grimlock is pretty fucking awesome. Also Mark Wahlberg > Shia Labeouf. Might actually be worth a rental at some point.

His camera doesn't usually sit still long enough to see what any of the ridiculously complicated designs look like anyway. I've always wondered why they don't streamline them somewhat, not in a whiny fanboy "They should look just like G1" kind of way, just to have fewer ridiculously complicated pieces for the poor animators at ILM to move.

Well first of all, when Joss Whedon apes them, I actually care about the characters in the film enough for the action to matter.

I'd argue that the 3rd is the best. It's still absolutely terrible, but not as bad as the first two.

Shia LeBeouf was at least funny in his Transformers movies. As were some of the other actors, esp. the Coen Bros. trio in the last one (Malkovich, Turturro, McDormand). Is Mark Wahlberg funny? Has he ever been funny? Will he be funny in this? If not, this won't work. I'll take LeBeouf funny over Wahlberg serious any day.

Not sure it was intentional.

I'd argue he's also pretty funny in The Departed.

I saw THE OTHER GUYS, but I'd forgotten that Wahlberg was in it. I remember Ferrell, the Rock and that British guy, Steve Coogan, I think, but that's it.

Anyone keep thinking Transformers: Age of Ultron from the title?

I thought Wahlberg was also funny in 2 Guns.

I thought he was pretty funny in Boogie Nights, when he couldn't get it up because of all the coke. So he's just masturbating in the bathroom while crying, hilarious!

Something like this?

I love how they kept the basic silhouette and construction of them but totally gave them a complexity without diminishing design.

Fall of Cybertron was a badass game. And I'd kill for a sequel for it but with the whole Activision nonsense going on. I don't see it coming but goddamn did they leave it on a super geeky tease for a TF fan.

Also it had a fucking awesome story.

It's probably just me, but I thought/think the CGI in the new trailer looks worse than any used in the previous three films. Then again, I suppose it's possible it's not 100% complete yet.

I've disliked all three movies, but think the first one is probably the 'best of the worst.' I imagine I'll wind up seeing this for the main reason most of you will - because Wahlberg is better than Shia, and it's possible that could make a big difference.

Fuck yes like that! Exactly like that! They look much cleaner and one can easily make out which robot is who.

I'm gonna assume you're joking since the title of this movie was announced way before that of the next Avengers flick. With that assumption in mind...

For the most part, the CGI looked fine to me. However, that closeup shot of Optimus Prime's face looked very poor. About as poor as the CGI during the Megatron & Fallen versus Prime fight scene at the end of TF:ROTF. Even Michael Bay acknowledged the CGI was poor in that scene.

Please someone make a Transformers movie with no live actors in it. They serve no purpose. I just want to see robots fighting each other and transforming into cool shit. Bring on Unicron.
