Let The Bullets Fly -- Chow Yun Fat -- Chinese Action/Comedy -- March 2nd

Looks alittle cheesy, but fun. The spiritual successor of Kung Fu Hustle?

They have a late night screening of this at the Portland International Film Festival later this month, I'm gonna try and check it out.

This came out in 2010 and was China's top grossing movie of all time.

Is this on BD anywhere?

Saw this tonight. There's action, but far, far less than the trailers advertise. The plot is mildly incomprehensible (possibly due to historical knowledge not common to a Westerner), even after seeing it and overall the film has a sense of humor that ranges from slapstick to tasteless (there's a rape that's sole purpose is for a few throwaway jokes in the wake). The cast keeps it entertaining, particularly Wen Jiang who barely upstages Chow Yun-Fat. I'd personally recommend waiting for DVD/Blu-Ray.

A "B" in my book.

I enjoyed it quite a bit, and I thought Jiang Wen was great. I didn't think you needed to understand the historical context in order to enjoy it. Just be prepared for the over-the-top and slapstick elements.
