Mission: Accomplished - New Year's Box Office 12/30/11-1/2/12
Early numbers for the 4-day from Deadline.
Un-adjusted for inflation, MI4 will have passed the third film's US total after 18 days. After a slow start, Sherlock 2 is holding steady. I'm not sure what kind of drop off it'll have after the holidays are over, but $175 mil seems possible.
FRIDAY PM: I’m back with the end-of-holiday box office for end-of-year 2011. The Christmas and New Years topper is still Paramount’s Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol which passed $100M domestic on Thursday and $200M internationally Friday — which makes for $300+M global so far. It looks like Tintin won't crack $100m domestic. I'll be curious to see the final overseas numbers.
I could see Dragon Tattoo hitting $100m with adult audiences consistently seeing it, and with a possible awards season push.

It's just sad that the chipmunk movie will break 100 mil and Tin Tin and The Muppets won't.

Well the Muppets is now the highest grossing Muppet movie ever, I think it can be considered a success.
