Wondering if anyone knows this movie title...
 

This is going to be kind of obscure, but I saw this made-for-TV movie of the week when I was a kid, either late '80s, early '90s, based on an actual event where a boy shot and killed an intruder that broke into his family's home. The movie mostly followed the events afterwards and the emotional trauma it caused him.

I think this was on network TV like ABC or NBC, not Lifetime.

Does anyone know the title of this movie or have an idea where I could look further? It's actually been nagging at me for a few years and I don't really care about the movie, but I need to know!

Actually, I think I just found it. "Armed and Innocent." The synopsis sounds like this movie.

Sounds like that Sam Mendes movie where Tom Hanks plays a mobster and tries to keep his son safe.
