Viggo Mortenson popped up alot in almost every late 1980s and some 1990s movies. Back then he wasnt well known even in Young Guns II and Texas Chainsaw III.

I think Viggo got more recognized after his role in the Psycho remake and Carlito's Way.

Even during and after the Lord of the Rings movies, Viggo was doing pretty good with HIdalgo, History of Violence, Eastern Promises and whatever else

Recently re-watched Wolf and was pleasantly surprised to see Allison Janney had one line during the party scene, and she's in the background of several shots during the sequence when the horse freaks out. David Swimmer is also in the movie playing Cop #1. I looked it up, and saw that Friends premiered a couple months after the movie, which means when Wolf came out on video, a lot of people watching at home suddenly exclaimed, "Look! It's Ross!"
