Re: Guess That Movie By Screenshot (7 Plus Seven)

SHOCK CORRIDOR was 1963 and this set is definitely from the 1930s. I recognize the actor in the first shot but can't remember his name. If I could, I'd look up his credits on IMDB. I looked up every contemporary horror movie from the 1930s I could remember to see if any name in the cast rung a bell, but I didn't get anywhere. My first thought was THE INVISIBLE MAN, but that doesn't match the second picture at all.

Ash is correct, this is from the 1930s.

Do you mean all together? At least one of them is onscreen for 98% of the movie

Gable and Harlow are both excellent in this, and all of the other performances are good.

James Stewart is in it, too, but I don't remember who he played. (I saw this in a theater sometime in the 1980s and haven't seen it since.) Harlow is definitely great in it, but she was always underrated in my book. She did a lot of fine work in the short span she was with us.

I just grabbed what was closest at hand.

This is based on a true story.

Re: Guess That Movie By Screenshot (7 Plus Seven)

This is the title character. Prior to this film, the actress won her country's beauty pageant twice.

These are the protagonist's sidekicks. The actor on the left is quite well known internationally.

This movie was remade almost 40 years later.

Another shot of the leading lady. She has over 120 acting credits to her name:

Re: Guess That Movie By Screenshot (7 Plus Seven)

Why do they call it Rosemary when the title cards for both clearly read 'Rosemarie'?

I'm just guessing, but I would think a big reason the English title was not Rosemarie would be to avoid confusion with the Nelson Eddy / Jeanette MacDonald film Rose Marie (1936), which was hugely popular, had been made less than 25 years before, and had been re-released several times, so it was still remembered by millions.

Here's a handicapped post to make it a little more difficult for the hard-core players. If you guess correctly, please consider posting new screenshots to keep the game going.

Post #2:

Two cast members won a total of 10 Grammy awards between them (each won at least three). (George Carlin and Richard Pryor each won five Grammys for comedy recordings).
