Another Friday Sequel? New Line in talks with Ice Cube to write & star
From Deadline.com
New Line Cinema is in talks with Ice Cube to write, produce and star in another installment of the Friday series. Cube could be in line to direct it as well, but all that is being worked out. A TMZ report says that Chris Tucker as being in serious talks to reprise his role in the film. They have had discussions and Cube wants him, I’m told, but it’s unclear whether that part is a reality. For one thing, when I interviewed Tucker several years ago for Playboy, he told me that because of his religion, he was reticent to be depicted in the pot smoking mode as his character Smokey was in the original film. He went as far as to say that he probably now wouldn’t have taken that memorable stint in Quentin Tarantino’s Jackie Brown, because of the verbal explosion of profanity and liberal use of the “N” word. Stay tuned.
If Chris Tucker returns as Smokey, I will definitely see this.
I'm surprised Tucker isn't holding out for a Rush Hour 4.

Yeah Tucker is definitely one of the laziest actors in Hollywood. Some actors are making 4-5 movies per year and that fucker has made 3 movies in 13 years.

Ice Cube I NEED My Daddy for New 'Friday' Flick
Ice Cube knows ... you can't have a "Friday" movie without John Witherspoon to punish the bathrooms.
TMZ has learned ... Cube has already reached out to the actor to reprise his role as his burrito-eating, dog-catching father, Willie Jones, in the next "Friday" movie.
We spoke to Witherspoon ... who tells us, "I said, 'HELL YEAHHHH! I am ready to do this!"
Witherspoon says nothing is in stone yet ... but he's very confident everything will be worked out.
TMZ broke the story ... Cube has also been in talks with Chris Tucker and Tiny Lister about reprising the roles they made famous in the 1995 hit.
WItherspoon says he's excited to work with all his old pals -- but he's more fired up about the women ... telling us, "One thing for sure that I do look forward to seeing on the set is pretty girls."
“Cube always has bunch fine women on the set. I am an old black man, how could I not look forward to taping with a bunch of pretty girls surrounding the set?"

Smokey was the only interesting thing about the first film...and the only reason I would watch a fourth one. Smokey is Friday.

I hope Mike Epps makes it back in addition to Tucker. I didn't like Next Friday but have a soft spot for Friday after Next.

I liked all the Friday movies but this would be great. I noticed Chris Tucker has been doing a lot of stand up lately (he was just here last week), so I guess he's getting back in the groove of things since he's been so inactive.
Last time I saw him he was huge at that NBA Celeb game. How could he pull of being Smokey?

He can take it easy. You don't want him to become 80's Richard Pryor or 90's Eddie Murphy were they put out like 2 movies out a year and they were trash.

Witherspoon would be my only reason to see this...man can do no wrong when you unleash him.

The 3rd Friday was funny, much better than Next Friday, hardly anyone has seen it though. Witherspoon would make me see a fourth, he was the only funny thing in that POS Soul Plane.

While I liked the original Friday better than the two sequels, I think Mike Epps is funnier than Christ Tucker. Hopefully they'll both be in the new one.

I really enjoyed the first two (though Carter was far more obnoxious in the second). The third really only had a handful of good moments, the following being the best:
