The Japanese pop music show, "Hello! Morning," had a Christmas Special on Dec. 25, 2005 that's required holiday viewing every Christmas in my household:

'It's a Wonderful Life'
'A Christmas Carol' - 1984 George C Scott, easily the best adaptation
'A Christmas Carol' - 1951 Alistair Sims
'A Christmas Story'
'Miracle on 34th Street' 1947
'A Charlie Brown Christmas'
'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer' - Rankin Bass
'Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas'
'White Christmas'
'Scrooged'
'Christmas Vacation'
'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'
'Santa Claus is Coming to Town' - Rankin Bass
'Little Drummer Boy' - Rankin Bass
Hell just about every Rankin Bass ever made about the holiday, love them all.
There's a few.

But, I'm going to add one to the list that I bet most have never even heard of, but it has been required viewing in my house for as long as I can remember (we usually put in the DVD on Thanksgiving day, to "kick off" the Christmas movie season). In fact, even now that my kids are grown and moved away, when we talk on Thanksgiving the first question they always ask is "Dad, have you watched The Lemon Drop Kid yet?"

Aside from all the classics already mentioned,
Trapped in Paradise is one that people usually haven't seen but gets a lot of laughs
Millennium: Midnight of the Century gives me chills as well. Great episode for followers of the show.

Pretty much the same list I was going to post (but of course there are a lot more ).

Re: Favorite Christmas Movies/TV Specials
For me, it's:
A Christmas Carol (1951)
It's a Wonderful Life
The Nativity Story (great, understated recent film)
Narnia: Lion, Witch Wardrobe
..and for me it's not Christmas without an airing of Blackadder's Christmas Carol

Re: Favorite Christmas Movies/TV Specials
I'm in for all those Rankin Bass stop motion specials (they can keep their 2D animated specials - bleh) and pretty much the classic B&W movies like the '51 Christmas Carol and It's a Wonderful Life.
There is one other Christmas special I would love to get a copy of, but I haven't seen since its original TV debut in 1970. The Great Santa Claus Switch was a Muppets special with Art Carney playing duel roles of Santa and his evil twin. It was quite some time ago, but I recall it being hysterically funny. I'm a big Muppets fan, but for some reason none of the other Muppet Christmas specials appeal to me.

So why aren't you all participating in the 7th Annual Holiday Challenge over on the DVD Talk forum? If you each see two of your choices, you've already got a list.
