Damn, looks like Dredd and TDKR will have some competition for my affections.

Amazing trailer. I'm liking what I see of DiCaprio's performance.

Still not sold on DiCaprio in that role. At all. (and I like him)

I don't know why but I just can't get excited about this movie. And I'm a big Tarantino fan. The trailer's make it look like a generic studio picture.

I wouldn't bet against Tarantino (the director, not the DVDTalk member).

I didn't care for the first trailer, liked this one much better, but regardless, I'm sure we'll all enjoy the film.

The basic concept of the film is a little fuzzy, in historical terms. The notion that a black bounty hunter could survive in the slavery-era south long enough to make a two-hour movie out of it is simply absurd. But then, much of INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS was similarly absurd and I enjoyed that one very much. Tarantino can get away with stuff that I wouldn't accept from, say, Paul Thomas Anderson. And I'm very pleased to see Di Caprio playing a bad guy.

Based on the trailers I kind of get that, but I'm seeing enough hints of Tarentino's flair to get me excited for this.

I'm surprised by how much I like what I'm seeing from Foxx. I'm not a big fan of his, but he looks pretty good in this.

I thought the trailers for Inglorious Basterds made it look terrible, but now it's my favorite Tarantino movie. His movies don't always translate well to trailers.

Really? I remember liking IB's trailers. Really really like KB's as well...the one where it was still just one film. Grindhouse's was fun too.

To make it look accessbile to the masses. Fans will see a Tarantino movie regardless.

That quick shot of Jonah Hill reminded me of Chris Penn. Would be interesting if he was an ancestor of the Cabot's from Reservoir Dogs.

Too much of a stretch?

Whatever it is, I hope his role is brief.

He joked that Kerry Washington's character is an ancestor of Foxy Brown, so it's not impossible that he might have some "real" ancestors for his characters.

So does that mean "Django Unchained" is set in Tarantino's movie movie universe and not his realer than real universe?

Hate to be a stickler for history but sunglasses were invented in 1929.

I'm sure Tarentino knows this.

I have always found this to be the case with his films. Jackie Brown all the way through Inglourious Basterds. I saw the trailers and had no real excitement for the films. But, the moment I sat in the theatre, and the lights went down, the excitement showed up. I'm feeling the same way about Django right now. I just don't feel the trailers (like, say, Looper... or Prometheus... or The Raid).

Geez...next you're going to tell me there were historical inaccuracies in Inglourious Basterds.
