At least they let it live. If it was a monkey, they would have eaten it.

I loved Cloverfield. Great quality on the BD.
LMI is very needless but it is well done. Solid direction in there but it does loose impact unlike its original. I loved LTROI.

The first trailer will be released on 12/18. Fox also moved the film up into Fast and Furious 7's old slot of July 11.

Nice. I'm really excited for this one cuz of Reeves. The previous director didn't do much for me. Also...weak ass script. But it had some really solid moments...that would later get chipped away by shit bits. But still...solid awesome moments there.
Can't wait to see wtf Serkis is like in this one. Seriously...this guy is amazing in this newer field of acting and as a generality too. That was pretty much my main excitement for the previous one. Serkis. Now I've got Reeves, who has been fun to see in his work. Though I wasn't amazed by LMI, it was solid direction.

I don't think he was right for the material. I think it was well directed but at the same time it didn't push itself to stand out apart as a seperate beast from the original film. It was just..LTROI...made in the US. So it was weaker and possibly more creative in it's direction but...it didn't have an impact. Whereas the original film was more subdued in direction but more impactful for it.

Reeves is two for two in my book. LMI was certainly inferior to the original, but it was a lot better than it should have been. A very good film in it's own right and miles better than most genre films released in 2010. I think Reeves is an underrated young director, I'd rather watch anything he does than any ten films by Zack Snyder.

As a bit of a POTA nerd, I think it's pretty cool that they're remaking films in the series without expressly acknowledging it. I wonder if part 3 will be a proper POTA remake in some way.

Nice teaser without giving much away. Good to see Jason Clarke get a pretty high profile role again.
I wonder how far in the future this takes place after Rise.

Oldman says they fought the flu for 4 years. Then 4 years fighting each other. Soooo possibly 8 years? Depending on what he exactly meant?

Thought the part where Oldman turns to the camera and says "You'll never make a monkey out of me!" was a bit much, but other than that pretty cool.

Looks cool. Last one was surprisingly good. Love that Jason Clarke and Gary Oldman are in this.

That teaser looks really good. The first movie was a very pleasant surprise so I'm eagerly anticipating this one.

It's a smart way to do it. Everyone with even a little bit of cultural knowledge knows the twist to POTA, so no point doing a straight remake.

I attended a screening of the original POTA over the summer, and the guy in front of me brought his grandchildren. They were very well-behaved, but when we got to that famous final shot, they actually gasped and exclaimed with surprise. It was kind of cool, I thought there wasn't anyone left who didn't know, especially since it's plastered over the damn DVD cover now, it was fun to see someone discovering it for the first time.
