My work blocks YouTube, so I finally watched this trailer yesterday. I was surprised that it looks so good. If the film is anywhere as intriguing as the premise they've set up, this could be really awesome.

I tend to agree. This looks like it might actually be pretty good. It is a neat premise.

First I heard of this, but I think I will check it out. I am a sucker for the "found footage" genre of movies. Some are good, most are bad, but I've pretty much seen them all.

How many years later and we are still stuck on that? The guy did not say "It's a lion!" ... he said "It's alive!"

Sorry man...I'm tired and my brain isn't firing well enough to figure out if you're joking or not. Anyway, I wasn't talking about Cloverfield. I was talking about this:

It is a great Ruxin-like quality I have. You are awake enough to get the reference!

Looks pretty decent for the standard early year "kids with super powers" movie (Jumper, I Am Number 4, Percy Jackson, Push, etc; )

Re: Chronicle (2012) - Found-footage superheros

It just received its rating by the MPAA: PG-13 for intense action and violence, thematic material, some language, sexual content and teen drinking.

A rarity in the found footage genre as most of them are R (or if you're Lionsgate, get the PG-13 on an appeal), but then again, this is a Fox release.

And for those who begin to start listing the found-footage flicks with a PG-13, yes, I know. Apollo 18, Cloverfield and The Last Exorcism are the only found footage flicks with a PG-13. Apollo 18 was tame whereas the latter two pushed the PG-13 to their near absolute limit.

The rarity would be if this one doesn't suck. So far, looking good, but then again that's usually the case for most of these films.

I'm still not surprised by the visuals. More interested in the concept...and if it actually works for a full film. Visuals are fine..but lets see if it all makes a good package.

Re: Chronicle (2012) - Found-footage superheros

Anyone find this relatively new trailer voiceover guy to be terribly annoying?

He growls every single word. Takes me right out of the trailer every time.

Portions of this remind me of Akira.

Definitely onboard.

Gald I'm not the only one who thinks this looks decent......definitely a little different as well - I like way it's shot - pretty cool looking.

if its a true found footage movie, everything wouldn't be clean and nice looking

Actually......never took that into consideration. Guess I'll have to force myself to ignore that part of it (even though it's basically the foundation for the damn film).

Re: Chronicle (2012) - Found-footage superheros

This was one of the hottest spec scripts in Hollywood a while back, getting all sorts of praise from readers. Personally, I thought the script was overrated; nothing new at all. It just reminded me so much of the early episodes of Heroes. And those of you who are irked by typos like the one in the thread title, be glad you didn't read the script.

Empire gave this a 4/5 rating.

Didn't read the review as I want to see this based only on the trailer.
