Fortunately there are a couple of theaters here that screen indie/small budget films like this. I'm hoping one of them eventually screens this in the coming weeks (not concerned about the NC-17 being a problem since these theaters screened Shame)

I don't live too far from The Landmark, but I don't think it's worth the gas money for this one, and definitely not to Irvine. I'll be waiting for this to be available on Netflix for rental.
It's a bummer that it isn't playing at any of the smaller artsy theaters that are closer to me, like Shame did when that came out.

Now, that was a movie. This movie is dripping with dark comedy. McConaughey is sleazy as fuck. Loved the whole of the last scene and just the whole dynamic of this white trash family. I'll leave it at that. Go see it.

This packed quite a wallop. MM was tremendous. I'm still playing it over again and again in my head.
Some of Friedkin's shot compositions were downright nasty and his direction of this material was masterful.
