Man on a Ledge (01/13/12) Worthington, Banks, Bell, Sedgwick, Harris, etc
An ex-cop and now wanted fugitive (Sam Worthington) stands on the ledge of a high-rise building while a hard-living New York Police Department hostage negotiator (Elizabeth Banks) tries to talk him down. The longer they are on the ledge, the more she realizes that he might have an ulterior objective.

This trailer kills whatever intrigue I had, cuz it sounded like something I MIGHT want to see. Also...Banks in a more serious role, seems like she's doing fine w/ it.

So, his plan to rob the man who set him up is to create an enormous diversion with hundreds of cops and onlookers directly kitty corner to the building he's trying to divert attention away from?

It was okay, a entertaining movie but I doubt i'll ever watch it again. There seems to be two different movies going on, one a drama about a innocent man on a ledge, the other a heist comedy. Sam Worthington is a fairly boring actor, putting him alone on a ledge wasn't the smartest casting decision. Elizabeth Banks has to stop with these dramatic roles, I didn't buy her in the role for a second. Kyra Sedgwick had to think she was in a spoof, she reads every line with obvious sarcasm. Edward Burns has nothing to do, at one point he's just sitting on a couch. The best part of the movie is Genesis Rodriguez, she can't act worth shit but my god is she stunning to look at.
Catch it on TBS some day

"Man on a Ledge" has that feel of a 1st year screenwriter's attempt to script a movie about a man who escapes from the law, and later appears on the ledge of a New York hotel, causing a commotion, while his brother and girlfriend are breaking into a nearby building to steal something worth the risk of such a plan. Not too many surprises, and is burdened by that "script-by-numbers" feel. But, even so, the acting cast (Sam Worthington, Elizabeth Banks, Billy Bell, Ed Harris, Kyra Sedgewick, Ed Burns, and Anthony Mackie) somewhat tries to elevate the material, but in the end, it's not much more than a decent matinee flick. I will say that Genesis Rodriguez is fiery and smoking, pretty much the only one who feels like she has a pulse in the film.
I give it 2 stars, or a grade of C.

Redboxed this on Blu tonight (with a coupon), so it was worth the $1.08... barely.
It was alright. You could see everything coming from a mile away but that was fine with me for this film.
None (I repeat, none) of the acting was stellar (even Harris) and some looked to be extremely bored (namely Burns)... but all-in-all, I enjoyed it.
Won't watch it again.

I dunno how to rate this movie. I wasn't bored by it but it was tremendously stupid.

Finally got around to watching this tonight. Not a good movie, by any stretch of the imagination. However, I was pretty entertained by it.

Yep. Saw it recently too. Mildly entertaining, but plotholes galore. Seriously, jumping off the biilding at the end.......
