Really enjoyed this one. A film that is marketed as a comedy but it's more of a dramedy. Besides being funny it is charming and has heart. Nice role for Sean William Scott, he fit the character to a T.
Worth at least a rental. Recommended.

Saw it off of Amazon Instant Video (thank you, Amazon Prime) via my PS3. Damn. I really fucking loved this movie. Scott really pulled what depth that character he played could muster. Just solid flick. Really loved it.

I really liked it too. Probably Scott's best performance. I really liked how they made him this super nice, dumb guy.

It's on Netflix. I was only slightly interested and had to push myself into watching it. Turned out to be a good idea. Very likeable movie.

Easily his best performance. Probably a very good transition type of role for him to get more serious work, still funny but had some drama to it. I've never seen much of the AP films, don't know him out of it but...I can see him getting more serious work from this. I'd be game to see what he can bring.

SWS was better than I've usually seen him, but this movie isn't about hockey. It's about hockey fights, and who is the best at it. Stupid premise, and uninteresting execution.

Also, you've made it obvious you don't watch hockey either, because teams actually do have enforcers or "goons" like that in real life. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enforcer_%28ice_hockey%29
Missed the part where it said this is based on a true story?

That's a stupid reason to not like the film.

Just because it's based on a true story doesn't mean the movie is not a poor attempt at a stupid topic.

Is it sad that enforcers in hockey were cool to me ever since the second Mighty Ducks movie with the Bash Brothers?
I enjoyed the movie a lot, and I don't care for hockey either. I don't think the premise is that dumb at all.

I watched this last week. Both my gf and I thought it was pretty dumb. It's an amusing idea that feels stretched out to feature-length status. Maybe they could've cut 10-15 min.
I'll agree this was one of Scott's best roles, but I had a hard time buying how stupid his character was. Are there really people out there that dense? That's kinda rhetorical, but he was seriously so stupid sometimes I couldn't believe it.
The fights were the best part - duh - but he never really struggled in them much. It got too repetitive when he just mashes every face he fights, but this is a comedy that doesn't take itself seriously, so I'm probably expecting too much there.
Baruchel was so. fucking. annoying. Even more than he usually is.
Schreiber rocked it. A bit over the top, but he was clearly enjoying himself here.
