I was trying to figure her out in Deeds. But I guess I like the strange and unusual.

She had a dip a few years back, around the time she was busted for theft and pain killer use and what not, glad to see she's bounced back in the looks department.

Is Burton gonna replace Keaton with Johnny Depp?

Replace? No, but undoubtably in a world like Beetlejuice there would be a suitable role for Depp.

Don't really see the point in a sequel to this movie. Is hollywood just out of new ideas?

They have been for a long time, but this is one movie that sequel talk has been going on for a long, long time. It's one of my favorite movies so I'd gladly welcome another round, as long as they do it right.

Tim Burton Confirms Beetlejuice 2 Shooting Soon

Quote:
Back in 2013, we first started hearing rumors that Beetlejuice 2 was in the works, and those rumors became fact last year. Tim Burton confirmed that he’d be directing the long-awaited sequel to the 1988 classic, and both Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton revealed that they’d be back. As for Geena Davis, she expressed interest in the project, despite not being contacted at the time.

So when can we expect it? Well, it may not be too far away.

In an interview with Showbiz Spy, Burton provided a hugely exciting update.

“The film is a go and has been approved by the Warner Bros. team, we have talked with the cast members we wanted for the film and they are all on board, this includes both Winona and Michael,” said the fan-favorite director. “We have the script in hand – everything is in place all we need to do now is get ready to start filming.”

Seth Grahame-Smith wrote Beetlejuice 2, which is supposedly a true sequel to the original.

More as we learn it!

Re: Beetlejuice 2 (D: Tim Burton)

Any delay is on Keaton, who just booked his next gig: http://deadline.com/2016/03/michael-...te-1201716934/

Hopefully everyone's schedules align to shoot during this fall and be able to release it next fall.

Keaton is finally on Hollywood's A-list - why in god's name would he go back to Beetlejuice?

Even starring in back-to-back Best Picture winners and getting a Best Actor nom isn't enough to make Keaton a top box office draw. It doesn't just make you Chris Pratt or Robert Downey Jr. overnight.

And Beetlejuice isn't a guilty pleasure by any stretch. It was a huge hit and his performance in it was acclaimed to the point that he got serious Oscar buzz. We're not talking about a direct-to-video Multiplicity sequel here. A Beetlejuice sequel is a guaranteed hit.

A-list? He's been in two Oscar winning movies in two years, and while they were profitable, they weren't exactly blockbusters.

Re: Beetlejuice 2 (D: Tim Burton)

If you showed a pic of Keaton to 100 people on the street half would say "Beetlejuice" while the other would say "Batman". If you mentioned Birdman they would look at you like you were nuts and say, "no, Batman, not Birdman."

A-list in terms of pedigree, not in terms of making studios $$$.

Let's be honest, Chris Pratt was not the draw for Guardians or Jurassic World.

Maybe not A-list but he's a pretty well known name for his older work and I would say with the recent films he's done he's gained more notoriety again. He probably could do bigger films if he wanted to at this point but he seems to be somewhat choosy with what he's in.

I would guess that he really likes the character and had a blast filming it. He's one of the few that can do both comedy and drama really well.

I think being on the "A-list" aka being the lead in 2 straight Best Picture winners and being nominated for Best Actor, is probably what is getting Beetlejuice 2 greenlit in the first place. This would probably be a Netflix movie (like the new Peewee movie) at best otherwise. If they can make a movie as fun as the first its a win win for everyone involved.

Guardians? No. But JW, I'd say he definitely aided in bolstering numbers thanks to the goodwill from GotG.

When audiences connect with an actor, especially a relative unknown, that person's next project can often get a nice bump simply because people are looking to see more of them. It def helped Pratt was playing a similar character, too.
