Re: Beetlejuice 2
I never really felt the need. If a film is entertaining I will enjoy it, however many films really do not require sequels, even less so when it is twenty five years later. It does depend on the story and what movie they wish to continue, many are perfectly fine as standalone films.

Both this and Ghostbusters III window passed 20 years ago, though. Neither idea is appealing and both should be scrapped.

Re: Beetlejuice 2
Tim Burton has become so creatively bankrupt that he is actually the last person I would want to have involved with a Beetlejuice sequel.

Re: Beetlejuice 2
Michael Keaton pretty much played Beetlejuice in that Larry David HBO movie anyhow. Same exact cadence, mannerisms, etc.
Although I'd like Trey Parker and Matt Stone to do the sequel as a musical.

Not unless the writer has the right exchange of dialogue exposition.
INT. BEDROOM, DAY.
BARBARA sits on the corner of the bed, patching a day dress. The bathroom door is open, revealing ADAM standing at the vanity mirror examining his aging, wrinkled face.
ADAM: (sighs) Why am I getting old and fat, Barbara? Ghosts aren't supposed to get old and fat.
BARBARA: And ghost clothes aren't suppose to get ghost holes in them but I'm still mending this dress. Aging is part of life, regular or after. It's all in--
ADAM: I know, I know. It's all in the book. Doesn't mean I wasn't looking forward to not aging.
BARBARA: As for the "fat" part, that's on you.
ADAM: Ha-ha. Stop cooking everything with cheese.

I actually hope they make this, just so we can point and laugh. This is a such a horrible idea, I say...bring it on. Oh and Burton must helm this, just to complete the clusterfucking.

What's with these sequels to movies being made like decades later Dumb and Dumber To, Independence Day 2, Beetlejuice 2, Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. There must be no original ideas at all.

Off topic but I've never seen that video before and it was pretty interesting hearing Smith talk about the Superman film he wrote that never happened. I'd always heard talk about it but seems like a pretty interesting story.

Like Kurt Russell, Michael Keaton is a guy I always like to see in movies. Maybe it's because his current filmography is sparse.
Love the 30 Rock episodes he was in.

Re: Beetlejuice 2
I'm kind of surprised that he acts like a bit of a dick when asked about the 25th anniversary of his Batman role. I like the guy but is it unheard of to celebrate a film's anniversary with a special event or possibly record a new commentary track?

Damn, you guys are all so negative. Ryder, Davis, and Keaton don't seem to be doing shit these days. The only one that probably wouldnt do it is Baldwin. This could be Burton's comeback, and as long as it's a true sequel and not some idiotic reboot or remake or the Hawaiian crap I'd definitely be excited for this.
BTW, Keaton is one of the most underrated actors around IMO.
