I tend to be one who always loves Coen Bros. films though too so it's probably not a huge surprise I liked it a lot. I would say though upon first viewing I think it could be one of their best. It feels like it's going to be really rewatchable.

This movie has one of the most misleading TV trailers I've seen in a long while. I went to see it with my folks expecting a sort of modern day Harry and Tonto, and instead it's this pitch black story of a total loser who gets stomped on by life over and over when he's not creating problems for himself. I liked it, but they were disgusted.

No offense but if you or they are familiar with Coen Bros. films at all though it shouldn't have been hard to have a general understanding of what they were getting into. The trailer for this isn't the best I agree but even reading the synopsis should tell you it would be nothing like that.

Just got this from netflix last night. Coen's in top form. Garrett Hedlund's character really should have been played by the Gos, to complete the "Drive Trifecta". Especially considering Hedlund's character spends the majority of his time driving.

I just watched the CC version and thought the flick was great but agree that the original marketing materials made it looked optimistic. Shit was dark and funny. And fucked up.
The CC Blu-ray is phenomenal, though, and the GDT interview with The Coens is worth the price alone.
